There are a lot of artistic people running around on these fora, if not professional or unprofessional.

Which makes me wonder, do you as an artist (or not) have a muse. A muse can be anything ranging from a record to a person. I experience a lack of motivation and inspiration from time to time. Which basically sucks because I am a Professional GA (Graphical Artist).

So my question is do you have a muse and in what form does it represent itself? Or don't you believe that such a thing exists at all? And as a side question how do you battle loss or lack of motivation and inspiration (let's call those a design block to make it easier πŸ˜›)?

      @Boo:

Yeah it requires a good feeling of rhytm and understanding of music, 4 beat - 16 beat - 64 beat, you got to feel when the next 64 are coming in. And you got to line up the speed of the 2 records on sound alone. And after that you have to sync em up. So quite a bit of technique is involved.

Though I must say those setups are basically bastard proof. I often abuse the cue and play buttons and they can take it without a problem. So you wont break it, you will just look at the shitload of buttons and sliders and have no clue how it works and how you can get a decent mix out of it. πŸ˜„

    • RE: Politics Forum....

The politics forum was created to keep all the politics crap away from the other fora.

For all it's worth it was actually created to separate the actual SU fora from the politicalstuff. Not to encourage more political debate but more that we could shut that part out of the main forum, to put it in a separate group so to say so that if you were to read the other topics in the corner bar then you could avoid the politics all together.

I do hope you reconsider leaving though.

Hmm shame I really wanted to know how they did it, because it will be practically impossible to do that freehand with paint brushes, itll just take too long.

Im guessing either airbrushing or masking. Either way awesome!

    • Some Art

So basically I drew up this design about half a year ago, and I just have gotten round to actually painting it.

Design done with paper en pencil, after that quickly scanned and imported and traced in illustrator to get clean lines and a decent layout and to save the design because water was spilled on it. πŸ˜›.
Paint Style - All Freehand; First set up Line Art by A4 reference then painted.
      Style - Abstract
Time to paint - 8 hours (the detail was insane)

Let me know what you think of it πŸ˜„

Would be nice looks very good in the picture. But no that's too far south, we will be hitting the krka?? waterfalls, after which we will be going to the more touristic north, west of Rijeka.

So where are you off to? And for how long will you be missing these fora?

Personally Im leaving for Austria tomorrow morning at 5 am after we hit Austria for a few days we will be moving over to Croatia which we will be hitting very hard for at least a week, and after that it will be Venice for a few days after which we will return to the Netherlands the 25th of July.

I already have experienced my first badass sunburn right here in the Netherlands, so thatll remind me to oil up before I hit the sun next time πŸ˜›. I suggest you all do the same seeing this hurts like there is no tomorrow πŸ˜„. Kiteboarding and sunburn who wouldve guessed those 2 would go so well together...

Anyway Im curious as to where you will be going and for how long we will be missing you all on these fora. Post on!!

Looks a bit oversaturated to me Tom, There are a lot more way you can add a glow effect to your image which are better than messing with the curves you know. For isntance a layer blend will get the job done much more efficient.

Nice model Eric, though the renders look WAY too bright. Perhaps downtone that a little seeing that would probably give the renders more body and feel.

His setup is insane thats what it is πŸ˜›.
But indeed a nice render Scott. Learned a lot from the material setup.

Chair is available on FF as we speak, low poly high detail, it was a relief when I finally finished it!

    • RE: Another house I'm using to learn Sketchup

Why isn't there a program that you can load into your browser than recalculates inches to metric. Metric is a much more easier system, its actually based on a decent system. I know both inches and metric. But why inches and the lot are still beeing used while everything in the world is beeing transformed to use the same extenstions inches and feet and such still are here, while metric is the standard throughout a lot of the fields throughout the world. It can be compared to the dollar. Dying and fast and still it is beeing used instead of a much more stable currency such as the euro.

And a 200 mm wall is quite reasonable for a wooden wall isnt it?
I mean normally you would go by 300 mm for a constructive wall and 100 for an inner wall. So 200 mm for a wooden outer wall doesnt sound very strange to me.

Very realistic for a podium render, podium has indeed come a long way! The level of detail is insane, how long have you been working on this? Very well done, keep us updated!

In the end the same results can be get with any program indeed. But in my experience VRAY is the easiest and above all the fastest render engine.
