    • RE: Red, Yellow or Blue?

Itd be an electoral reform. I dont think labour (red) or the conservatives (blue) are particularly keen on it as the current system benefits them, although obviously they dont shout about it as everyones pledging to 'clean up politics.'

My history is pretty weak, but as i understand it the conservatives and liberal democrats (or more accurately, the roughly equivalent party) where the major parties before the 19th century, so they did used to be more powerful, but in the last 75 years or so theyve not been a major player.

    • RE: Dynamic component formulas resetting?

what jim said. By default it'll always display the straight values, you can either double click on the relevant field to see the formula or click the f(x) button as jim suggested.

    • RE: Rendering and Linear Workflow

With regards to what it is, my understanding is that you basically work on the image without gamma correction applied and then apply it at the end. Not sure what the benefits are, though, as i've never bothered to look in to it beyond that very basic understanding. I look forward to hearing other peoples thoughts.

    • RE: Nvidia vs. ATI

Personally i wouldnt worry about the fact that only nvidia supports CUDA. All the major GPU renderers that im aware of use openCL, which is cross platform, rather than the nvidia specific CUDA.

A faster adaptation of your last method would be to use fredo's box twist ruby to twist the 'cone' then unhide all the linework. Works pretty well πŸ‘

Presumably you want the surface detail as well rather than just the shape?

Reform of the electoral system is on a lot of peoples minds as well, i think. With the current system (first past the post) a party can get a majority without getting the most votes, more details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_past_the_post

No, theyre not really a major player, although as smaller parties go theyre pretty big (bit of an oxymoron there.)

Yeah, the repulicans and conservatives are roughly the same in that the major right wing party. Id say your democrats are roughly the same as our liberal democrats, being slightly left of centre (from my point of view at least, im sure you could argue this point) and then our labour party are the major left wing party.

    • RE: OpenCl or direct compute

Well if you can think of a way of splitting up the process of displaying the model on the screen im sure the development team would be very pleased to hear about it.

Sorry if i sound a little terse, but its very easy to say 'speed up SU using the gpu', but to actually do it is a far more complex process (which is probably why no 3d programs utilise openCL/CUDA for displaying the model.)

Which part of SU could make use of the massively parallel nature of GPU computing?
