wow, nice warm sunlight, beautiful wood. But there's never been a single pupil in this room... no scribbles on the desks, impossible!

RE: Some Artlantis works
Artlantis again... at last. Very fine renders! Very good use of the shaders

Oh, and the blonde... well, you should offer her a jacket, I think she's freezing. Why do some of you think Artlantis is not productive? I have my own license for 2 month now. Camera setup und use of (multi)textures are so fast and easy (Artlantis works with my Space Pilot, making camera control plain fun) and the render speed is just mind-blowing. But then, photorealism is not important for my work, might be, Artlantis could drive you insane there.
If the Artlantis stuff would talk to their community at least a bit, I'd recommend it any time... but this beeing a sketchup forum, that's nothing anybody here doesn't know, right?

RE: Animated section planes
Impressive
What a wonderful composition. This really is a big inspiration for me.
I'm working with similar backgrounds and overlays... have to log out and do some section cut tests right now -
RE: Merida Proyect
Very nice. I expecially like the slightly mono-colored version of the first picture, nr. 5 I think (sorry, don't know a better way to describe the effect, even though I know how to do it in PS). But again, great work with a cozy color style.

RE: Help with space navigator
I think speed vs. size of model is very important. For large models bring down space navigators speed (most of the time I have it on the 3rd or 4th tick).
Oh, and my first klick after opening sketchup is on Camera Mode. Flying around is 100x easier for me this way.Like MuseumMaker said, you'll never ever want to model without it once you get used to it.

RE: Barn
Very nice model
Medieval stuff is what I'm modeling too, so your models are always a great inspiration to me.
What makes me a bit dizzy here is looking at the right side of the building, with the small windows. Maybe its just me, but I thinks it looks like beeing of a totally different scale than the front and reference guy.
Oh, nearly forgot: Great choice of textures! -
RE: Silvershadow's Eye Candy 3 - H.M.C.S SNOWBERRY
Oh my god. I still can't decide whether your post is the greatest sketchup inspiration ever or the one that ended all my ambitions. You've created the ultimate benchmark!
Perfect water, incredible details, beautiful render... in fact my first thought was "OK, that's his reference picture, let's see the model he made", the rest was

RE: Bad models - old models
To me, calling those models "bad" seems to be a clever way of fishing for compliments

I like the arc and the details. -
RE: Render test, please...tomsdesk 2.5d trees?
WOW, they look great Tom! Those replacement textures would be very interesting.
Here is an Artlantis render I did to find out if I can use them. Had to disable the 2 shadow layers, fiddle with the shaders a bit to get the transparency working, that's it. 20 seconds when I knew what to do.
Great Trees. The bundles are on my personal wishlist now

...By the way I really like you're profile picture, It always make me stupidly happy to see it around a topic... so don't dare trying to change it
!No worries! I will keep it some time... just too much of my personality in it

RE: A question to Artlantis users
Sorry Edson, can't help you there. I could use a good source for free 3D people, too.

RE: Thai Style House
Oh my god, what a beautiful model! You must have a really good orginasation within the model (layers, groups, components). I'm deeply impressed.

...But if you have a screenshot of yours I'm interested to see it, and maybe find out the hidden trick !
Oh, I didn't know there was a problem. For me larger preview works fine. But I don't know about a hidden trick. Just activated 1280 in the preferences, then enlarge and fit works fine. My demo is version 2.1.1.0.
Have a look:

Great tutorial. It made my very first steps in Artlantis easier.
I'm really looking forward to some advanced tutorials
