Thank you for that Massimo, that gets me halfway there. I realized after your help that the info was contained in entity info. Sometimes I don't see the forest for the trees. However, i need to show the length of a number of arcs. Is there a plugin like Mr.Bur's dimension by angle or the ability to annotate the length of a curve ( circumference) that will take that info and create a dimension annotation for the length of any curve? Any body?

How to dimension the length of an arc?
is there a way to dimension the length of an arc. I need to do a small metal craft project and need to annotate the length (ie circumference) of various arcs as they meet different faces? Any help is much appreciated.

RE: Right click menu disabled???
i'm not sure if it's the exact same problem cause based on the screen shots the object is still highlighted whereas with my problem, the object would de-select prior to the menu appearing

RE: Right click menu disabled???
I had a similar problem earlier this week when I downloaded a couple of plugins. After I had selected an object or group and right-clicked, the object would be deselected before the menu came up so in effect I was right-clicking with nothing selected. I traced it down to a couple of plugins by using they ruby window to identify that there was in fact an error generated. I then made a copy of my plug-ins folder on my desktop and emptied the original of all files with an ".rb" extension. On the copied folder i arranged my files by type and systematically copied large batches of files (15-20) at a time until I whittled the list down to the offending plug-ins and renamed it with an ".broke" extension. Solved the immediate issue but because i am in the middle of a number of projects I haven't had a chance to pursue it further. I believe it was a clash between two plugins. Let me know if this helps

RE: [req]Hide certain layer on all other scenes
thank you Remus and thank you jim. sometimes in the middle of a project you put the cart before the horse trying to get it done. i did a rudimentary search for such a script and came up empty. thank you again.

[req]Hide certain layer on all other scenes
would you could you wonderful coders find it in your hearts to write a plugin that hides a particular layer on all scenes other than the one you are working on. i have sixty scenes in one model and to add a layer at the end and then go back through all the previous scenes to de select it was taking me forever. i am in your debt

RE: Disappearing objects issue
I found that the clipping issue can be resolve by switching from perspective view to parallel projection and zooming out then switching back to perspective view

RE: Toronto SketchUp model job
To put simply you need to think about your contractual obligations in this situation. If there are none then walk away from the situation until they realize that they are not going to work for $10/hr and certainly a person of skill and training isn't going to do it either, so they have a choice of addressing the situation properly or finding somebody else. You provide a service, this is the rate, if you don't like the cost, then you need to address your budgeting/ employement expectations. I am a skilled contractor/builder/designer/project manager and i see this all the time. Tee/vee ppl have an unusual understanding of what they bring to the negotiating table. Unfortunately, real world costs/timelines don't seem to fit too well into this scenerio. They are sales people selling a medium. Ask them to lower their incomes to compensate for your costs. Or offer them the opportunity to work on producing a T.V. show about a room makeover but warn them that it only pays $10/hr. I'm sure the network would jump on it. either way, they are trying to take you for a ride; don't get in the car

Exploded parts view???
Does anyone know of a script that can show a model with all its parts exploded or is this an operation that has to be done manually each time?

RE: DC's - Repeating a hole - is it possible ???
i second the notion of using a shape hidden in the sketchup file as the template for those cutouts, as not all cutouts would be cylindrical in fashion
