Hi all!

I got a problem with vray renders without shadows. I was getting nice renders until, something happen. At first I was getting black renders but was trying to figure out on forums what I was doing wrong.

I have purge unused materials, and it seems to work fine again, but from time to time I would get a message " we have encountered error(s) while trying to render. Please check the error log for more details" . Then i noticed that my renders are fine but not sowing any shadows- AND SHADOWS SETTINGS WOULD BE ON.

I was again trying to find a cause on the google- some of the people had the same problems, however the solutions for that problem which worked for them didn't worked for me at all ( i tried several different)

I decided to reinstall vray as I thought that would help, but unfortunately didn't . I even didn't try with my big 45mb model. I tried to render a person and its without shadows... after reinstalling a software.

I am really disappointed.. I am already so behind and vray problems seems to be not ending

please help!

I am new user of vray, but already tired of it! I got problem with my renders as they are too dark, was trying to do different tutorials, but somehow it didn't work that well.

Also weird things like - the glass doesn't show it's transparency - although it shows transparency on vray materials editor..

I am attaching few slides I done specially for that post, in hope somebody will help me..

I have done render a and b - with slightly different tutorials which I found on Google ( if you interested that the tutorial for render a: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-L5APsenhY and for render b: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCIngKllJnk)

My model it's about 65 mb.. which is not a small size. Renders even with basic options take quite a bit and it took me about 5 HOURS to do just a little like that. I am honestly exhausted and have no Idea what I am doing wrong..

I am new here, so I am not quite sure if that's okay for putting up a topic like this.. if so, let me know and I won't be doing that again.
I notice that so many of you are working in Interior dEsign , Architecture and modeling field.

Since I am still a student (Bsc(Hons)Interior Design) .. well almost finished! one more year to go! I am really hoping to do some real work in my field. I was hoping to get to the practice for the internship this summer!

BUT as far as I know it's quite hard to get to the practice, even for the unpaid internship.

I know I would need to really impress potential employer and be remembered..
Do you know what employers are looking for when getting UNEXPIREINCED student, for the intership?

What would be best to put in my portfolio , I know that a wee bit of everything. But what would they look for especially?
to put all my questions in one sentence I would say : WHAT CAN I DO TO GET TO THE PRACTICE?!
Would appreciate any tips!

Oh and by the way, I am stillllll working on the model, but will need to start doing my render soon.

I was watching few tutorials for rendering with vray for skp, and was trying the settings they showed on the tutorials.. some of the render took about 9 hours , 4 hours , some of them an 1 h or 2.. since I don't really know much about those settings. i am just doing what they are showing on the videos

So, to fasten up the future renders I was thinking of coping my model and open few the same sketchup models at once and then render on every model different scene. Would you think that would make vray to render longer? Or it would actually safe me the time of renders ? ( that's what I am hoping for .

Ps. You guys, are so nice! I can't belive there are some many people that are willing to help and give advise in a cost of their time!

Holmes1977 Thank you for the link, - no wonder why I couldn' find the textures on their website.. I am still not a official vray customer, As i just started to testing demo verison so would need to manage with some textures from google images

But thanks anyway, good to know about some great web for the future

I am not quite sure about the faces?? I only imported that chair form sketchup warehouse, and didn't change anything. I 'opened' the chair group and took and image, if that will help you with something? : see below

hhaha I just noticed chair is in 'air' At first was wondering what you meant by it , well I created that view only for this post, but normally working on a bigger model about 55kb.

I would be very glad if you would give some suggestions what I can do to sharpen up and make that chair looked more detail.. Why is that happening.

ps. I have attached 2 images of the model I am working on, so you can see the problem and also the other issues.

![This is another v-ray render . I was trying to figure out lighting seetings.. and night mood.. it didin't work. Not quite sure how to change te size of light, set up the dirrection and etc. But I assume you busy , so didn't wanted to ask all this questions, since I can find the answer with trying and trying.

Hi Guys!

I got a problem with 'flat' vray render, what I mean it's not a quality render. I have quickly render a chair, that does not shows it's details when rendered...

I am new to vray , and using 30days trial version.

I also rendered that chair using podium v2, it's better but still not the render I am looking for.

Anyways I want to render using vray, I know I probably would have to change some settings, but no idea which!

I don't need breth taking render but still would like to have some qulity in it.

Would really appriciate if you could give me some suggestions!
