Here is a flower that is from a temperate climate, anyone from such an environment confirm this?

Love Nastursiums. We plant them every spring in SE Pennsylvania and they continue to a hard frost. I believe they grow year round in areas without frost (i.e. California has tons along the ocean up as far as San Francisco). And they taste good.

      nomeradona,
I look forward to seeing your pictures every day -- no fancy equipment or post processing could match your photographer's keen eye for composition. I think you could probably take great pictures with an ancient brownie box camera.

    • RE: Thickening lines & displaying scale

Not immediately apparent on the SU site (bonus components for 7 not yet available), but there's a link to V6 bonus components:
      http://sketchup.google.com/download/bonuspacks6.html

PS. another trick for nice display of section cuts: Make sure you are careful to orient faces so all the back faces are inside items with thickness (i.e. walls, floor slabs, etc.), then use styles to set the backface color to black in a separate scene. Result is instant section cuts that are pure black for full thickness.

    • RE: Thickening lines & displaying scale

You can, in SU, control the thickness of the section cut lines with styles (as well as the color of the section lines) independent of profile lines. You can also insert a graphic scale (in the symbols folder of the bonus components). So you do not have to resort to LO.

    • RE: Creating Faces on a terrain mesh

I imported the dwg., merged the layers and used sandbox (from contours tool). Took about 5 mins. (half a cigarette). There are some flaws -- probably the result of poor cad file. Resulting file is too large (5 Mb plus) to attach, so I will send you a PM.

Correction, file is too large to attach to PM. So send me a PM with your email address and I will forward.

You might want to look at:

Also do a search on "Gnomen workshops" - they have links to free photoshop tutorials for post processing, with several devoted to space art.

Nope, not at all harsh. Now a Gauloise or Gitane, that's harsh.

Not a bad product and great for those situations where smoking is prohibited. Will it make you stop? I doubt it, especially if you are used to a particular brand's taste (camel non-filter for me).

    • RE: "ISSUE" With Face Selection -- SOLVED (See final post)

Does you home PC have, by any chance, an integrated graphics card (eg Intel chipset) rather than a separate graphics card? Integrated graphics are notorious for the face selection problem as they do not properly support OpenGL. If so, you are probably out of luck and will need to get a separate graphics card (preferably nVidia).

One way to check for certain is to turn off hardware acceleration in OpenGL preferences. If you then can select faces you have confirmed the graphics chip problem.

    • RE: FILE SIZE ISSUES!!! PLEASE HELP!!

Your model file sizes seem extraordinary unless your models are super-detailed. Have you purged the models? Are you using texture images that are larger than 1024 x 1024 pixels?
