E-Cig Update
-
Hi Guys,
I know we have a few die hard smokers here on the forum that
really know that have to kick the addiction but are finding
it difficult. Some time ago I tied a brand of e-cig (electronic cigarette)
and the product was disappointing. I just could not get the
thing to work properly.I did some more research and decided to have another go with
what appeared to be a better product. It arrived this morning
and I have been using it throughout the day. Actually I think
I should have ordered the 'low' or 'medium' refills as I find
the 'high' mg quite strong.Anyway, I will admit that I have still smoked about 5 normal
cigarettes but this is a cut down from 30 plus. I think I
should be able to move to the e-cig totally over the next few
days and I think this should improve my energy levels and
the amount of money that I will have in my pocket as the e-cig
works out at less than a quarter of the cost of normal cigs.
At present they are β¬8.45 for twenty here!I won't mention the brand of e-cig here as I don't think it
would be appropriate but if there any any smokers that need
/want to cut back just PM me and I will pass along the info.Mike
PS: I got quite a kick out of 'smoking' my e-cig in my corner
bar this morning while having a coffee with some non smoking
friends ..... lots of strange looks but after I explained what
the e-cig was I had no problems.

Hi Mike,
Yeah I'd love to know about this e-cig. Maybe I,ll stop getting ash on my laptop!!!
Regards
Richard -
No prob Richard. I will PM the info to you. BTW this is my
second day and its working well. -
Mike, I've been looking into this also, however I have read a few dissapointing user reviews, I understand that there are a few different manufacturers that may have a sub par product, can you point me to your favorable one please.
-
Mike, would you mind sending me that information as well?
-
really interesting, i smokes alot here, need kinda stuff like that
is there any site should i visit? -
Mike...you're gonna be PM'ing all day: I don't think posting your experience with your brand would be beyond reasonable. Otherwise, could you hit me with the brand info as well, thanks.

Not a bad product and great for those situations where smoking is prohibited. Will it make you stop? I doubt it, especially if you are used to a particular brand's taste (camel non-filter for me).

Oh sh***t I used to smoke that as well - isn't it too strong ("harsh")?
-
Nope, not at all harsh. Now a Gauloise or Gitane, that's harsh.

Yeah, you are right Tom. The e-cig that I'm using now is
http://www.myvic.co.uk/I tried another brand about 4 months ago and gave us on it
as it did not preform well, not much 'smoke effect'.I will share a little more info. If you expect it to 'work'
like a tobacco cigarette you will be disappointed. I find it
is best to learn how to use it like a pipe! I smoked a pipe
many years ago and it entailed more of a puffing action to
enjoy it. Inhaling pipe smoke is quite strong anyway! Most of the time I just want a few pulls / drags but when I
light up a cigarette I smoke the whole thing! With this device
you can satisfy the urge with a few puffs and put it back
it your shirt pocket. This brand is well made and works but comes from the UK so
postage to the US might be expensive. I have also read good
reviews on NJOY (mentioned above) and I think they also use
a quality atomizer and battery.I probably will buy a bottle of refill at this place when my
supply of cartridges run out http://www.smokejuice.co.uk/Best of Luck

Mike.
Can you explain the refil thing, as there are so many bullsh*t stories online I cannot get a straight answer.
How long does a charge last, how long does a cartridge last, how much does it cost, compared to cigarrettes is there a saving? -
Pete,
A cartridge lasts for the equivalent of 10 to 15 cigs. Its hard
to put an exact figure on it because the way the e-cig is used.In the case of the MyVic they include 3 cartridges and extra
packs of 5 cost $7. However it is possible to refill the cartridges
using a liquid / eye drop thing. The whole deal does work out a lot cheaper for me with 20 cigs
costing @8.45. So you will have to work this out for yourself.
The kit cost around $57.Its worth a try even if it cost consumption of normal cigs!
