RE: Folders issue
hi Hal! Thanks for your answer, will try that and see if it fixes something.
...I have a strange issue when trying to install today's update. I successfully install the plugin (I see the new cursors to see/hide filesize and/or name) but still the installer warns me there's an update available...

RE: Folders issue
hi Hal!
I always clear the component finder search bar, and always close its UI window before exiting, otherwise I experience other strange behaviours, such as predefined folder not seen anymore, or errors in loading of such directories.. Nonetheless, I still get issues sometimes, apparently random..I'm on Su2018 18.0.16975

I'm attaching it, if anybody needs.
This plugin adds a "rotation90z" entry in the extensions menu. Thanks guys!

RE: Keyboard pivot component around its axis
Hi Faust! I found this little plugin too, but HOW do I tell the plugin I want to rotate around the CI origin?
Even in your post, I read that in the very first release the author decided to change the center of rotation from the CI origin to its global center...I wish I could switch it back!

RE: Keyboard pivot component around its axis
Hi Box!
I'm looking for a keybord shortcut to do that operation, so that I don't have to pick the rotation tool and do all the select/pick/pick stuff for each object I have to rotate. -
Keyboard pivot component around its axis
Hi to the community!
I am a long date sketchup user but never came out to me that there is no possibility/plugin to actually shortcut the rotation of a selected component around its own inner origin. In general all existing plugins rotate the selected component around its global axes, ignoring the inner origin. This is useful indeed, but sometimes you have to rotate a component fast around its origin (best if you cold do this via a keyboard shortcut), and I can't find the way.
I found that Chris Fullmer's "Scale and rotate multiple" plugin actually rotates around the origin of the selected component, but there's no way to shortcut a 90Β° rotation around Z axis with no scaling, for example.
Would you guys help me out with this?
Thanks a lot in advance!

RE: Folders issue
Hi Hal! Any news about the fix for this issue?
And another thing: I have reasons to believe that component finder causes a bugsplat AFTER quitting SketchUp. Maybe it's a conflict with another plugin, but it's impossible to me to know what specifically.. Maybe you guys can check some code-y stuff, just to make sure?
Thanks a lot!

Thanks anyway TIG for taking your time to answer!

RE: [Plugin] Descaler v1.1 20121218
Hi TIG! Thanks for you quick answer!
So, what I'm trying to achieve is the possibility to change the texture applied to the component, so that in my render I can replace it with whatever texture and it gets rendered fine, without the need of entering the component and map the surface. This because I assume I will be using the same component a bunch of times, I have the need to have it reported by the SketchUp report tool, but I want it to be aesthetically different, so I'm keeping an inner component which is actually the same, and an outer shell which is painted with different textures (materials).
I've already achieved this in the file I'm attaching (it's a DC, see how it works in the options window, sorry it's in italian), working with a flat plane. Basically one have to set the dimensions, create a sketchup material using a texture with the desired dimensions, and apply that material to the face, which automatically gets mapped on that face.
I'm trying to figure out how to do the same thing on that hell of a curved surface

RE: [Plugin] Descaler v1.1 20121218
hi TIG and hi to all the readers!
I'm finding very useful the TIG's trick for keeping the scale of the texture!
I'm now struggling with same topic on a curved surface, but seems like the trick doesn't work....
Could you help me out please?

RE: Folders issue
Thanks Hal!
I don't have an extreme need of this, I'll just wait for the update. -
Folders issue
Hi to the DEVs team!
I don't know if it's an issue or if I'm incorrectly using the plugin, but...see images attached.
Main question mark is why I see in the first folder some models located in a different folder, not contained in folder 1.

RE: New to DC: topic for my simple questions to the pros
Hi again! is there a way I can LOCK the rotation of a DC along specific axis'?
I have a panel which I don't want users to be able to use as ceiling, so I only want it to be rotateable along its blue axis -
RE: New to DC: topic for my simple questions to the pros
OH BIG THANKS! I WAS MISSING THE FACT THAT IT DOESN'T WOTK ON THE ORIGINAL FILE!

RE: New to DC: topic for my simple questions to the pros
Sorry Moor, I don't understand. In the file I sent you, if I change the Instance name of "elemento da prelevare_shell" NOTHNG CHANGES in any window...

RE: New to DC: topic for my simple questions to the pros
thanks Moor!
Sorry, but maybe I misexplained what I need, I'm attaching an example. In this case I'd like that if I rename the component to whatever else, I get the new name in the Option dialog title. At the moment, this wont' happen: it keeps titling "elemento da prelevare_shell".

RE: New to DC: topic for my simple questions to the pros
Hi again! I want to have to possibility to have the Definition Name of a DC to be displayed in the Options Dialog, so that if I rename a DC I have its correct name on the dialog. Is that possible?
