RE: Is Sketchyphysics Easy To Understand As A Newbie?
Trying to decipher the works of models on the warehouse REALLY helped me get to know the certain functions. It also helped me with the formulas. learning from the experienced modelers will surely help.

RE: An Help manual for Sketchyphysics
I should be a ton of help with the "tricks" of modeling well. I've had about a years worth of experience...Count me in!

RE: Is Sketchyphysics Easy To Understand As A Newbie?
After reviewing the results(so far), it seems that it is a bit hard to understand. I suggest a sticky topic with a link to a tutorial website for sketchyphysics. Can someone set up a website with the faQ and any other knowledge? We have been lacking of a decent source of sketchyphysics tutorials.

Is Sketchyphysics Easy To Understand As A Newbie?
Could be for future reference. UPDATE:This is a poll for newbies. Will help when creating faqs and guides for Sketchyphysics

RE: Object Goals?
Sorry, it wasn't completely accurate. I want it so an object will try return to it's original position if moved to another position. Like a spring. But just so it isn't constrained to one axis.

RE: SketchyPhysics3 Release Candidate 1
For an uncontrollable thruster, check the box placed next to thruster in the UI. Then put in a simple value like 5000 in the strength field. If it is a big object, then the number must be increased. A controlled thruster code(placed in strength field)will be like this: -(controller)*value. A simple example will be -(key('space'))*5000. You can replace space with any character on the keyboard. If you have a joystick, you can put in just A or B or X or Y for the buttons. You can also put in lefty or leftx, being y axis and x axis respectively. You can do the same with right in the place of left, for the right stick(if you have one) Remember that if you don't have a joystick, you can still control the lefty and righty with the keyboard. Lefty is w/a/s/d, and righty for the arrow keys. For magnets, check the magnet box in the UI. Then enter a value. Create another object and check the magnetic box. The magnetic object will cling to the magnet. Try a higher value. You can also control magnets. Hope this helps!

RE: If SP3X won't work with SPIV, why should I use it?
Experiments? It would give you a head start and it will help you with SPIV. You could be the first to upload something not seen before. I think i also heard That sketchyphysics IV and 3 are to be released a year apart from each other, and most of the others will be using it and uploading to the warehouse. You would miss out on all the new models!

Object Goals?
Can you give objects "goals"? Where the joint will attempt to return to it's set position during the entire duration of the simulation? Almost like a spring? Can this also be possible with joints?
-
RE: SketchyPhysics3 FAQ.
@sgal said:
- Object can be linked to more than one joint, and vice versa.
Actually, Connecting two objects to a single controlled joint will not work correctly. Either object will take on a static position once the simulation is commenced.

RE: SP3x. The Plan.
May i request that instead of cutting the sound off when the object is hit during another sound cycle, make them overlap. Almost like a machine gun. OFF TOPIC: I had some more disastrous results when i had built a machine gun. I could only hear white noise when the projectiles collided, so i kept turning up the volume. BOOM!!! after the last shot had collided my eardrums had never seen worse days. Right now i feel pretty stupid...

RE: SP3x. The Plan.
When i added the batting practice noise script to a machine gun, it wouldn't play the noise until a minute later. That even happened after the simulation stopped. What is wrong?

RE: SketchyPhysics3 Release Candidate 1
I might not be right. When you wrote that it will retrieve the variable, i thought you could change the variable, like on a control panel slider. it is like two joints controlled with the same name.

RE: SketchyPhysics3 Release Candidate 1
I mean like the setvar and getvar scripts. Can it be alterable during the simulation?
-
RE: SketchyPhysics3 Release Candidate 1
Is it possible to alter variables within the simulation? I mean being able to control it with keyboard or joystick. I don't want a consistent position. Is that possible? If so, can you give me a script example?

RE: How do you get the "OnTouch" and "OnTick" to work?
I mean the newest features, other than fixed joint.

RE: How do you get the "OnTouch" and "OnTick" to work?
Wait, hold on. you mean i can't get anything in the vid to work? what about everything else?
-
RE: How do you get the "OnTouch" and "OnTick" to work?
so can you give examples that you used in the vid?
