I have tried it before. The real trouble is around the canopy. i have to project the curve , which is annoying. And if you notice, the models on the warehouse have the "nice" lines. I mean like all the details that are outlined which cannot be modeled. If you notice all the panels on aircraft of older times, that is what i mean. i have tried intersection, Nut the warehouse models always look better. I will see.

Frisken, There are also controllable planes. You can check them out on either hobbnob's account or my account. There are plenty of them, most of them are not alike. They are fun to fly and some are fitted with weapons.

Um... i think you can put in something like [0] in the controller field. you can also put multiple numbers like [0,0.5,0.2,1]. i'm not sure. I don't have much time and have plenty of things on my mind. If you really need help i will start up sketchup and find out.

you need to have a controllable joint that is controlled by a slider located on the control panel, and an object must be connected to the joint. then you should have a slider

if you mean in-sketchup triggering, one could have a forward floor connected to a spring. once a weight is detected there can be a straining motor joint that is released and completes one revolution, then returning to the original position after the platform has moved back up. if you could find some mechanism to open the door once the revolution has commenced, that would do it. i might upload an example

Here is one model that i should show that i had to build from my mind. While, in my opinion, the mechanics and the whole inside is outstanding, but the fuselage shape looks terrible!

I have a problem: when importing objects from wings 3d and blender that are exported in 3ds form, they show up incomplete! sometimes i get a simple fragment, and others, it looks like a machine gun bearing nut blasted it to bits. It has holes everywhere! Help Please!

I am starting modeling in detail. I need help!
first off some may be surprised i am asking for help. If you have an account and use the plugin sketchyphysics, you most likely will know me. I excel in programing mechanicals doo-dads and the like with sketchyphysics, but i have taken in other interests, like airplane design. I need help. Normally i use a push and pull technique, which does work well, but after comparing my outputs to other models, i look like i started new. I don't get how they model them perfectly! I tried using plans and arranging them in the order so you can draw an outline on the three axes, like other modelers, but it ends up looking strange. I am forced to create my own designs, partly because I don't want to embarrass myself uploading a famous plane that looks like a mutated pig(that was a bit over-exaggerated, but you hopefully get the idea).

I started out to make a new joint type called "Fixed". Any body connected to a fixed joint wont move all all. It is supposed to make attaching Magnets and Emitters to other bodies easier.
But once I finished I though it would be easy to make it breakable. And it was.
And then I thought; you know it would also be easy to... Well, I will leave that little feature as a surprise.
that little feature is gonna torture me... I hope it is changeable mass.

I also want to know some major features for SPIV. I heard that there might be material parameters, like friction, and breakable joints(can't wait! ). Will there be an easier way of writing scripts?

Wacov, i'm not sure you can call it a concave hull. If it just read concave, then it wouldn't register any convex faces. i think it is impossible to have a fully concave object. even a bent face is still convex. I don't exactly get why there can't be a movable mesh, because a group of multiple facets is more complicated then a mesh of identical polygons. those facets are components, and the more components you have, the slower it gets. Could there be some other physics engine alternative, like a plugin engine that can be switched from the newton to the other?

the only thing you can really do is either make the machine on a small scale, or place a series of identical joints. The joint technique does have a large effect. I noticed, when building a claw for a robot, that the claws would bend at the location of the joint. By placing two more joints at the opposite end,(pistons) the problem vanished. Try a large amount of joints.

All known scripts
could everyone who has any scripts please contribute them? It would be very helpful. I know that -(a)*50 can be used for emitting guns, [0,2,3,4,5][(frame/50)%5] can be used for timed and automatic machine movement. If you do know any, are there other variants which do the same action? and is it possible to figure out new scripts? I think, to my knowledge, that it doesn't affect the actions if you switch around[0,2,3,4,5][(frame/50)%5] to [(frame/50)%5][0,1,2,3,4,5]. Please help. I need some of these scripts for a project
