If the Germans didn't want their cities bombed they shouldn't have waged war in Europe, end of story.
They reaped what they sowed, like the atom bombs on Japan!

I've now got a good activation code thank you.
Have tried it with some standard DWG's, so far so good.
I was also an early one who got a wrong activation code
What manual???
It's just a bit of software I downloaded with something called a torrent. There's no manual that's why I asking questions
All a matter of taste then, but I'm no architect just a humble mechanical engineer.
It just appealed to me, and the name reflected the shape and construction material. I also felt it was a change from the towers on the other side of the river.
The miserable git has included my one and only Ruby! (drawhelix13)
Wants 'king with the rough end of a pineapple.
Now please don't all beat me at once...
We use PC's, I'm a very part time coder, most of my time I just use software but I occasionally code macro's for -
Inventor
AutoCAD
Word
Excel
What do they have in common (currently)-- VBA
Four pieces of significant software, one basic language for the macro's.
OK, I know I won't get VBA on SketchUp, but it would be really nice to get commonality of macro programming language across major applications. Probably no chance though.
P.S. - I have used Ruby on SketchUp
How to get a black eye from an Indian, call him a Paki, it's the ultimate insult.
Sorry, but if as a result of being of British I have to accept being called a "Brit" (a contraction of Britain) then what's the difference with someone of Pakistani origin being called a "Paki". In both cases it's the first four letters of the name of a country!
Bottom line, it's all a scam for a court case where "no win no fee" lawyers are out to get rich quick through "com pen say shun".
And I'm still more concerned about next weeks redundancies, for being White, Male, Married and Christian I am automatically placed at the back of any queue for assistance, this being decided by public service workers, those overblown wages are paid by my taxes, doing "non-jobs" as advertised weekly in The Gruaniad.
As with Zimbabwe I expect land reform will mean all the nice well built white farmers houses going to tinpot politicians and the land reverting to scrub and subsistence farming.
There then follows begging bowls for food aid. The question is how long?
I may be a pessimist, but I don't see any hope for Africa.
Trust me, anyone in the UK in the real world of employment has much more to worry about than this.
There again, public service employees reading "The Grauniad" will clearly be mortified

This seems odd to me. An I.T dept should only be concerned with the running requirements of the proposed software. As a designer/architect/technician you shouldn't need to justify using SU to them, they should not be concerned with project delivery.
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that an IT man in possession of authority turns into a control freak."
From experience...
"What you need to do is install i-drop to work with AutoCAD. It's a free add-on from Autodesk."
"We can't do that the IT manager won't approve it!"
"Then he's a WCW!"

This is an eyeballed version I just did without needing any clean up.
The cut into the cylinder had to be copied twice (180 degrees). Basically this involved: 1) helix13; 2) curves to tubes; and 3) Bool Tools.
Wow, they are impressive models of a twist drill. Takes me back 45 years to when I had to do a freehand drawing of one for my 0 level exam in Metalwork!
Also nice to see my a use for my helix13 ruby.

FYI - that guy is clueless and is sounding the alarm of fear
To paraphrase Mandy Rice-Davis "he would say that wouldn't he"
I did do a bit of Ruby, but sadly came to the conclusion I couldn't spend the necessary time on it as it was only applicable to SketchUp which is not a major application for me.
I reverted to VB because knowing VB enabled me to -
write VB applications,
write VBA macros for Word, Excel, ACAD and Inventor all being applications which I use on a daily basis.
Perhaps in our busy lives it's worth a moment or two of silent reflection on the tragedy than has unfolded in Mumbai over the last couple of days.
That's a bummer, I'm still running Win2000 so the installer coughs tells me my OS is not supported!
It's installed on my Acer Aspire One OK
