Me too. I will revert to the old version until CLibraries_Loader.rb is supported again.

      Solved!!
CadFather (http://sketchucation.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=378) has provided a solution that works well for anyone using MS Windows. A program called winsize2: http://sourceforge.net/projects/winsize2/

This program works on any window not just the options window. It's great for people with laptops and second screens because it can save different configs for different resolutions.

CadFather, winsize is doing just what I want!! Thank you.

In case someone has a native SketchUp way to do this I have moved this discussion to http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=289&t=52060

    • Set Component Options Window Height above 760

Anyone out there know of a way to make the component options window taller than 760 pixels? I am trying to fill all the vertical space above the windows task bar. I have tried setting the dialog height to 1336 pixels but the window will not expand to that height. I can drag the window border to that dimension but it will snap back to 760 when the options in the window change.

I have a AOC e1649fwu second monitor in portrait mode. This would be a great setup for components with many options if I can get the component options window to stay tall.

I am really benefiting from using this plugin!! I really appreciate the work you are doing!! Thank you for sharing.

Here is an idea for a feature: can the dialog height for the component options window be overridden to use the entire height of the screen above the windows task bar?

    • Toggle Rotation Handles in Move Tool

I have searched for a way to do this and have come up empty. I would like a way to toggle the rotation handles while in the move tool. I rarely use them during my normal workflow of cabinet design and I constantly grab them by accident and rotate geometry when I intended to move it.

      could you developp the idea?

You need to install this plugin:

      http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=36467&p=321094&hilit=mylibrary#p321041

to have access to components in the components folder in your SketchUp install directory.

Wouldn't you find the components also in the components browser? To what extent would it be different or better?

The results are in the component browser, just like all the tools / functions are in the menus and toolbars. The exciting thing, to me, about this plugin, is how much drawing space I recover from windows and toolbars. Instead of having the component window open and resizing the main SU window so they don't overlap and obscure parts of my model, I can now have the LaunchUp window open and have the whole screen for drawing. A quick shortcut key brings the LaunchUp window to focus, I type my cabinet code, down arrow and enter. Now I have my cabinet ready to insert at the cursor location. It's great!!

This plugin is great! Couple it with this plugin:

      http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=36467&p=321094&hilit=mylibrary#p321041

and you can have quick access to your favorite / most used components. I am using sketchup for cabinet design and having quick access to my cabinet library is a real time saver!!

Matt666, thank you for the very handy plugin. I use this all the time and was wondering if I could make one request...

Could you add a favorites toggle? What I mean by this is allow the user to set favorite units / precision combinations they could toggle between with one click. In my case I need to toggle CM with 0.0 precision and Inches with 1/16 precision constantly. If I could set these two as favorites and have one button that would switch between only those two I would owe you!!

    • Print story poles from sketchup drawings?

Has anyone been able to print form sketchup to banner or rolled paper? I draw a lot of cabinets for a shop that is accustomed to using story poles for cabinet layout. I think it must be possible to select a cross section of a cabinet elevation, or better, a layer that contains story pole data, and print it full scale to a roll of paper to create a story pole. The resulting print could be ~2" wide and as long as need be to have full scale cabinet widths.

    • Force a redraw after a value is entered in the vcb?

I am having trouble finding a work around to a bug in sketchup. The bug occurs when a dynamic component with nested subcomponents is scaled to a specific dimension using the scale tool and entering a dimension with units (ie. 35") in the vcb. The parent DC scales correctly to the given dimension, but the subcomponents do not redraw according to their attributes and the subcomponents attributes are not updated. Using the context menu "Dynamic Components -> Redraw" redraws the subcomponents correctly.

My question is this: how do I force a redraw every time I enter a dimension with units in the VCB?

Usually I add the value in the VCB after scaling to an arbitrary size so the observer would need to watch for vcb input all the time.

    • Scale Tool - Enter dimension does not work properly with DC

When I use the scale tool to scale a DC to a precise measurement the nested components do not redraw correctly. Here are instructions from the SU site on how to use the scale tool to size a component to a specific size:

      %(#BF0000)[Entering a scale multiplier value
You can specify a new dimensional length value during or directly following a scaling operation. To enter a dimensional length value during a scaling operation:

Select the Select tool (). The cursor will change to an arrow.
      Select the geometry to scale.
Select the Scale tool (). The cursor will change to a box within another box. Scaling grips will appear around the selected geometry.
Click on a scaling grip to select the grip. The selected grip and the opposite scaling grip will highlight in red. Each scaling grip provides a different scaling operation. See Scaling Options section for further information.
Move the mouse to scale the geometry. The Measurements Toolbar displays relative size of the item as you scale the item. You can enter the desired scale dimensions after the scale operation is complete.
Type the dimensional length value (such as 2' 6" for two feet and six inches or 2m for two meters) in the Measurements Toolbar and press the Enter (Microsoft Windows) or Return (Mac OS X) key.]

You will notice when scaling the attached DC the cube stays 50cm x 50cm x 50cm until you give the scale tool a specific dimension like "100cm". If a specific dimension is given then the cube is not redrawn using the DC attributes. I redraw fixes this, but shouldn't it auto redraw??

@Rich O Brien, the black bounding box doesn't seem to change the behavior of the components and I like the time savings the title block gives me when preparing models for print. I was really just wondering if someone could explain what is happening.

    • Anyone know why a black bounding box...

Can anyone tell me why the wall component in the attached model has a black bounding box when selected, but only until another component is added to the model. After another component is added, the bounding boxes return to the blue color that is part of the style. This behavior started after I added the construction lines to the face of the wall.

    • Two units of measure in dimension tool text

Is it possible to have the dimension tool display two units of measure? It would be helpful to have the text in the dimension tool to read <-----------25" (63.5 CM)------------>. I know you can add text and use the <> symbols to display the dimension in the models units. I was hoping I could enter something like: <> (<>*2.54) into the edit text box of the dimension, but so far no luck.

    • If statements and missing attributes

Can anyone help me out - I am trying to use an IF(,,) statement but sometimes it fails. This happens when the parent component does not contain the attribute the if statement is looking for, even when the attribute is not being executed on. For instance:

      This works:
      %(#0040BF)[Parent Component Attributes:
      Left Length = 5
      Corner Length = 10
      Is Corner = "Yes"

      SubComponent Attributes:
      Length = IF(Parent!Is Corner = "Yes",Corner Length,Left Length)]

      This doesn't work:
      %(#0080FF)[Parent Component Attributes:
      Left Length = 5
      Is Corner = "No"

      SubComponent Attributes:
      Length = IF(Parent!Is Corner = "Yes",Corner Length,Left Length)]

I want to be able to insert the subcompnent into a variety of parent componets that all have the Is Corner attribute, but only a few have the Corner Length attribute.

An example of the if statement failing when referenced attribute does not exist.

[I like the idea of having an intersection check while designing in sketchup. I looked at the model again and the cabinets sit adjacent to each other but do not overlap. Is your graphic showing the cabinets are intersecting? I use the dimensioning built into the cabinet components to check for overlaps. When the cabinets sit next each other but don't overlap the dimensions look as they do in the sample model. If I overlap them the dimensions overlap and look strange. I also have construction points below the edges of the cabinets that make aligning cabinets easy. I borrowed this method from sketchdata.

I have checked all the intersections and have discover that the 4 intersections on picture 1 are with the hidden component.I don't know if live the plugin to check the intersections with hidden components or only visible components or to make it selectable in the menu.
The other intersections are with visible objects, mostly caused by extra component that I have moved out (picture2).
Two intersections are real overlaps (picture2).

Those intersections are probably caused by my vertical dimension components. Each cabinet has a vertical dimension that is offset to a set distance left of the wall the cabinet is attached to. This causes the overall bounding boxes of each cabinet component to be larger than the cabinet alone. Would this be the cause of "intersections"?

The components on the left that are truly intersecting the adjacent wall are fillers that I purposely oversize so they can be scribed to the wall.
