    • Change Drop Down Menu Names

Hello All... all the plugins are really great. However, the names of the plugins are all over the place in terms of

      1. the name displayed in the drop down menu list
      2. the location of some of them... some of them in Tools, others under Plugins, other under Draw
      3. many of them could be grouped together into their own submenu... my Plugins drop-down, for example, scrolls down off the page because I have so many installed

Is there a way to modify some Ruby script or otherwise in order to move these around and rename them? It would make it a lot easier to find the tools.

      thanks.

    • RE: Modulus

It's cool.. I appreciate the input. I have been looking at SketchyPhysics a lot. It doesn't seem like the latest version is stable yet, so definitely looking forward to installing it when it does... I'm using Mac OSX Snow Leopard. But I also thought SketchyPhysics would enable just the physical motion, such as turning of gears, etc., but assumed it wouldn't account for the actual material being used. Would be awesome if it did!

    • Modulus

Hi folks.. newbee here... really, really great work on all the plugins! They have been extraordinarily helpful here and I've been more than happy to provide some of the donations. Keep up the good work!!

Here's a thought for a new plugin that would be very helpful for me....

I'm looking for a way to model deflection. For example,

      • when a load presses down on the end of a diving board or cantilever beam
      • when one body crashes into another and dents, breaks, or bounces off it
      • or my specific application where I'm designing a medical device clip that deforms and holds onto to something between its two arms. I'm trying to determine if the material I'm looking to use is going to be too brittle and crack, or will flex and work as needed for the patient.

All of these examples could be analyzed just be changing the Modulus of Elasticity of the material that is being used for the geometric shape that has already been drawn via Sketchup. We can find the Modulus of pretty much every material out there off the web, but we don't have a way of inputting it or incorporating it into our design.

Finally, a way to record the trajectory of the deflection for a spot on/in the geometric body.

      Thanks again!
