    • Rendering 2d people w/toon material question

      Hello all,
I'm trying to render 2d silhouette people w/the lines showing, I can only get the outline to show up, is there a way to have the inner-lines render that show the arms etc.; even with the toon material, the lines are not showing up.

      Would certainly appreciate any advice.

      Thank you.

      Take a look at Simplify3d: http://www.simplify3d.com/

I use it with my Lulzbot Taz 3 and it allows me to pick and choose where I want to add supports. It's well worth the investment and the slicing is much faster than slic3r.

Well at least now we know you're a liar that thinks repeating the same thing makes it true. I'll just grab my popcorn now and watch you post you little images that make you feel smart.

Service members are not allowed to carry firearms on base, stop spreading ignorance using dead soldiers as an example. That's pretty low even for you.

For the record, I had a friend who was one of the soldiers killed so I take it personally when a liar like you uses this type of low-down-dirty lie to further your agenda. Try doing a little research before you post these types of stupid blurbs, I thought you were smarter that this.

That video made for some great laughs. Unfortunately in the US, you'd either get sued into oblivion or shot.

They have a show in the US called 'Scare Tactics' and I remember reading how the show got sued for trying things similar to this.

    • RE: Visual graphic principles in Architectural Communication

Architects ultimately have to produce drawings that can be read and understood by a person in the field. I could spend days detailing a wall or building section but if the guy in the field can't understand it then its nothing but a monument to our egos. We adhere to basic industry standards regarding format and layout but it comes down to how much or how little info we need to convey in the drawings.

Plus any licensed architect in the US will tell you that the construction industry is an extremely litigious environment to work in, and our exposure to liability is enormous, so the drawings have to meet the intent of the design without taking on the responsibility of telling the contractor how to do his job, aka. means and methods.

The Obama Big Bird ad looks like the work of a campaign in panic mode. It's crunch time, when voters get very serious, very smart. So, this?

      Now you're just getting mean.

Next you'll start using words like "Commie" and "Socialist", maybe a little Europe bashing thrown in for good measure.

I'm not sure how I'm being mean about calling out a President who goes on and on about Big Bird when there are greater problems facing this country. Here is a man that is worked up about Big Bird but didn't bat an eyelash about going for a fundraiser to Vegas while US embassies were under siege. Instead of using airtime bashing his opponent for mentioning cutting funding with money that we don't have he should be telling the country how he'll reduce our debt by cutting frivolous spending.

So if that makes me mean then I'm guilty as charged. When I want to reduce expenses for my business I cut all unnecessary spending and I expect my government to do the same.

    • RE: Attack on NPR/Big Bird: bad idea in pres debate

NPR/PBS was created when there were not many options for that form of broadcasting and they were broadcast to places that couldn't access the more mainstream channels. But that period is over and people have access to all forms of information If people are that worked up about how important NPR/PBS are then these companies should enter the free market and compete like all other businesses, not take tax payer dollars.

I like PBS and NPR but I also believe that they should compete for business. As far as educational content there are a million channels and websites that have the same content that these stations have.

While their budget is small compared to the overall government they should follow what all families have had to do during these hard times; every dollar that does not need to be spent is a dollar that the family can save. Pennies become dimes which become dollars, thats how my kids piggy bank grows and that's how the government should wean these types of business of the governments teat.

Excellent!! So you're finally realizing that government shouldn't be in the business of financing business.

Sesame Street is a $400+ million business let them pay their own way. There's no reason a multi-million dollar corporation, and yes PBS and Sesame Street are corporations, should be getting my tax dollars to run their business.

I own my own business and the government doesn't pay me anything but has no problem taking more from me every year. As far as poorer vs richer states getting to keep PBS in this digital age of the government subsidizing computers, cellphones, education, transportation, groceries, I'm pretty sure if someone absolutely needs a fix of Big Bird the can always log on to youtube.

It's good to see the President rush to the aid of Big Bird cause he sure didn't rush to help the ambassador that got killed on his watch and last I remember PBS wasn't nearly as hostile when Obama's debt commission suggested cutting funding.

Of course the Apple sheeple will dismiss this as pure speculation and continue to support a company that has to sue its competitors instead of actually competing.

    • RE: Interior designers may be included

      Hi Majid,

From your previous post I'm assuming (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that you would like to immigrate to a new country to continue your career/education in architecture or art.

I can't speak for Europe's regulation on Interior Designers but in the US Interior Design is regulated per state and some states have no regulation whatsoever. So depending on how you'd like to proceed it would depend on what state you're looking to teach/work in. Unfortunately in the US, a lot of Interior Design is lumped in with Interior Decorating and there is no regulation barring a person who is good at picking pillows calling themselves a Designer (someone who is capable of residential/commercial space planning and is knowledgeable about interior building codes).

Now if you're looking to practice Architecture in the US you would have to see what regulations each state has in regards to calling yourself an Architect and signing drawings.

Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for but hope it helps.

      Take care,
