Well... seems to be amazing. I just tried UVMapper Classic and LithUnwrap, but I think for now I will stick to It's to hard for me to figure out how to use that uv mapping software. I always thought is more simpler and intuitive

Some interesting serverless database. What do you think?
I found this today. http://www.garret.ru/dybase.html
What do you think? Did anybody heard about? Worked with that? Do anyone have time to try it? -
RE: Ruby Gems?
I found something that in the end could lead to a way of using ruby gems with SketchUp Ruby
http://docs.rubygems.org/read/chapter/15#page101
and
http://docs.rubygems.org/read/chapter/3#page83
I could not understand too much from that, but I hope that somebody will refine that in a easy to use manner. -
SQLite3-ruby gem
Well, if somebody can give an ("YES") answer to this topic http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=23632#p200965, it would be nice, as I need to find a way to use SQLite3-ruby gem in the same manner, and it appears that it haves some external dependences.
And if anyone have some experience with SQLite and/or its ruby extension and want to help, please help me with this, because working with databases is something new for me.
Thank you

This looks like it will be a great tool. I noticed that the description only references metric measurements. Is that determined by the plugin or does the plugin use the units set up in SketchUp?
I'm planning to make it adopt Sketchup's units, but for now I don't really know how.

if, of course.
I only meant, that can calculate the amount of screws, hinges and Puxadores
the design of these elements, can be somewhat simplified or absent. You are right! This is one of my next tasks after I will finalize the first version. All those elements can be absent from model, but still counted in report. It can be made by a simple script which will add the required amount of hinges based on door's height, same with screws.

You should post about this in the woodworking forum too. Point back to this thread. I'm sure you'll generate lots of interest there!
I can't find such forum on sketchucation. Can you give me a link?

RE: [Preview] Skabinet (make cabinets with Sketchup)
to dedmin: Only some of cutlist optimizing software accept automatic input of edging. As you may know, CutMaster 2D http://www.cutmaster2d.com/ doesn't accept this, but it accept manual input of edge banding. What software is that, of window which you are displaying?
to TIG: thanks for your appreciation. I learned a lot from sketchucation and you (and others) helped me in the process.
to utiler: I'm waiting for your list!

[Preview] Skabinet (make cabinets with Sketchup)
Hy ! I'm glad to present you a preview of a new plugin.
It's name will be **Skabine**t, because is intended to ease furniture cabinets drawing under SketchUp.
What you will see is just a short demonstration of what it can do. You will notice that I use Ruby Console to input a command which is not finished yet, so I didn't connected it to a button.%(#408000)[Short observations:
PAL = Chipboard;
Blat = Worktop;
PFL = replace Plywood (that 3mm thick HDF used for cabinets back, or drawers bottom)]
-those are material names or abbreviations from my native language (Romanian)%(#4000BF)[It will have more features like:
-automatic material assignment
-texture orientation along with first line when drawing the board
-export Bill Of Materials
-export cutlist in csv, xml, xls formats (with some predefined formatting, as required in some cutlist optimizing software - please tell me which ones do you use most)
-ability to set defaults (material, thick, names, and more...) Those settings will be saved in Windows Registry or an INI file.]
%(#BF4000)[next to add:
-automatic clearance for doors, cabinet's back plywood
-automatic edging
-and more...]So, if you have ideas, suggestions, please don't be shy... in the end this will be a TOOL, so it must be as efficient as it can be.
if the movie doesn't shows, whatch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S72kdDsUFGs

Sketchup.send_action(21513) will shrink the outliner, although it will only work on Windows. I'm not sure if it will help or not.
Oh, it DOES help !! I will try it soon.

Whow ! It seems that I'm not the only one!
I didn't knew that somebody else was working on something similar. Here is a short preview of what I'm working on...
So, if anyone have suggestions/ideas or want to help, please pm me.

RE: TIG Mirror plugin crashes SU7
Is there a way to control the state of Outliner (and other windows) ? Because A lot of Sketchup functions are slowed down when Outliner is opened. I'm thinking if it's possible that a script that is influenced by Outliner's state, to be able to collapse it, or at least to close it.

RE: TIG Mirror plugin crashes SU7
It crashes for me a lot and I can't tell exactly when. First time I suspected that it crashes when I mirror a group who have inside a component, but is not that. If it crashes once, it will crash every time on that geometry, even I close and reopen the drawing. As I remember, bugspat happens only when I choose to keep the geometry (for this i use the plugin mostly), so now I delete original geometry, then I use UNDO (thanks TIG for not using start-commit opperation )

RE: Alternatives to Bloatware
Foxit Reader http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/, but it doesn't show thumbnails (yet), unless you have Adobe Reader installed and do some tweaks (search google for that)

RE: Bedroom
Well, this is why I started this: because furniture software is VERY restrictive, NOT updated, rigid, ugly (shall I continue? )... and sketchup offers more possibilities, all we must to is to take advantage on them. For now I'm stuck because I try to understand better how to use "protected" and "private" methods. Since I wasn't forced to use them since now, it's a entirely new concept for me - I understand the principle... but I am not sure that I understand how to do what I want. Anyway... I don't have any experience in programming. This is why I started learning in first place.

RE: Bedroom
Since a while I'm working on a plugin which will make cabinets drawing more easier, it will make materials report, drawers, doors, and I'm planning to implement edging too... But I still have a lot of work on it.

RE: Bedroom
to dermotcoll and dedmin: I use that oblique cutting, also I use edge handles, and also I use BLUM a lot I would be glad to discuss more about furniture; is it here a subforum for such discussions?
