Has anyone had issues with large files retaining the file size even after groups and layers are deleted? Is there any type of memory of groups or layers that is kept even after deletion. On a more general note what is the best way to keep file sizes down? Are there any scripts out there that allow you to delete redundant geomentry (sel duplicate in rhino, overkill in autocad)?

I was wondering if there was any way to accelerate the zoom function. Often if I need to zoom through an objects surface I have to scroll the wheel 10 times or so, just to get through. There should be a key you can hold down which will help you zoom through an object. Does anyone else experience frustration with this?

What are the best aspects of sketchup? I'm pretty new to sketchup but I have already identified some features and ways of working which are unique and awesome. For example, I love:

•being able to delete a surface then select something behind it, hit undo and still have my selection made

•sketchup's inferencing abilities( with a little help from shift and the arrows)

•being able to operate on something (pull, rotate, whatever) then use a second finger on the wheel to orbit or hold down shift to pan at the SAME TIME!

What do you love?

Thanks for the responses, I guess I'm not alone. The idea is that I would like to extrude a handrail. I don't have the profile for it yet but in essence the enclosed file would exemplify what I'm trying for and the problem I'm having.

Hi guys,
quick question, I'm trying to follow a curve with a nonsymetrical face. It is extruding but reorienting the shape (it is spinning as it follows the curve). In rhino I would extrude along 2 curves to keep it oriented correctly. Any suggestions for controlling follow me in sketchup?
