@unknownuser said: Nice @Slimdog They are QCodes, modern Barcodes that smartphones read. If you scan with phone they can lead to websites or info on product CORRECT. I put that there because next year will be the first year my tech program will utilize the AUTODESK Academy software package. I like hinting to things without telling the kids. That way they wonder for a summer what the next year will bring. It is the QCode for the IPAD/Iphone app for autocadd viewing and editing sorta. helps emphasize how cool next year WILL be. Did anyone pick up on the GEARS word first being spelled by using 1337 letters? I am waiting for a kid to see that.

Creating realistic camera movements is pretty hard. When I do Sketchup walk-through's I use the scenes/animation for most of my camera movements and then some manual movements with the mouse. I'll try to mix them up so you don't see the exact same pan, rotation or zoom over and over again. I also use a program called FRAPS that records video of any Direct X program. I don't use Artlantis but it looks very nice with all the shadows and sky rendered. You will probably have to do a lot more trial-n-error to be pleased with your camera movements. Let me know what you figure out.

Jason, Not bad work. There are a few things that can be worked on: The pool edge material needs to be fixed The pool looks like it has trees IN it, I know it is a refvelction but it drew my eye right to it The guy walking adds nothing to the animation. Scott

Yes, the students went through a few class examples of making arms, wheels, moving objects, and eventually to this point. They started with only the arena, that was distributed as a skp file to each of their computers and they built upon them the vehicles.

Yeah, something like the gentlemen above say. If you set it to privte, no-one but contributors/collaborators will be able to download edit whatnot (there are endless possibilities - pplay around with them). One caveat: if you do NOT want Google to include your models to GE, make sure that the "this model is real and GE ready" (or what) box is NOT checked. Although... I believe that those kids would definitely deserve some kind of encouragement, incentives and "real" credits. Why not the whole town/neighbourhood know about their talents and efforts? This is also always encouraging for others (and they won't be spending their time on dope on the streets at least). But of course, you know what you are doing and I don't want to interfere... Next week I am starting with a secondary school special afternoon course with kids in my old school (I graduated from). This is something you would call a middle school and high school in the US I think. I am looking forward to what I can achieve with them and I will definitely leave it for them to decide what they want to go public and what to keep private even though we'll be using the 3D Warehouse.

Make sure that when you export the scene you check the box where it says: Export photomatched. Then it should work. However, if you have a landscape scene with smooth suraces that are photomatched, then these surfaces will be sharp, since kerkythea exports each triangle from a photomatch as a different object, in this case.
