RodentPete - I wrote a tutorial like thing back in January, here's a link.

RE: Rigging a Quadruped
Director Bob, sorry for the nightmares

CraigD, he's more like a cheetah than an ape. I was trying out some power sizing with the front limbs. When he's just in the stand pose I think the size difference with the front and back works, but after posing I don't think it works so well. I'm working on fixing that now.
(I'll be thickening the hind legs)

RE: Rigging a Quadruped
Okay, I'm done with the rig, and I created some poses. Check them out on my blog:
http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/?p=364
(to limit bandwidth on this site)I'll probably work on the Stone Age pose a little - not as close as I like... but it was all to test the rig.
Believe it or not the posing was pretty quick to do, I was surprised.

Rigging a Quadruped
Haven't posted in a while. Sorry, but you'll have to go to my blog for images - better my bandwidth, than yours Coen.

The Fuel & Fire comic inches a long. Here is the first of a few posts that will outline my attempts to build a posing rig for a quadruped in SketchUp.
Here is my latest post on the rig:

RE: Music to make models go by
It's weird I tend to listen to NPR or podcasts when I model, and will only go into music after I've listen to all my shows. My top picks:
- The Adam Carolla Show - This American Life - Creative Screenwriting - Gamespot The Hotspot - KCRW The Treatment - KCRW The Business - Science Friday - Word BalloonWhen I write or read, I will listen to more ambient types of stuff. During my daily writing routine where I don't want to get distracted at all I will put on my headphones and just loop one of these two songs.
- Who Am I? (Animatrix Edit) by Peace Orchestra Featuring Hubert Tubbs - Everyday by Carly Comando ([http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B26asyGKDo](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B26asyGKDo))(and for some reason I can listen to these two loop for hours)
For the most part the difference in activities is that I tend not to think creatively (language wise) when modeling so I like to catch up on radio. When I'm writing, I really need to concentrate and even hearing lyrics can be distracting.

RE: Phishing Question
Your web host might have be marked on a blacklist somewhere. And as you have experienced some providers use these lists to protect their customers, hence you have been blocked.
Most phishing scams spoof (faking their origins) domains, hosts, emails in their attempt to do their dirty work. Unfortunately, that can put innocent people and hosts on those lists. Telling your provider about these problems is a step in the right direction, you pay them to provide you with a service, and if they cannot protect/manage their systems from phishing you are not getting what you paid for. Even if the service is free, it's time out of your day to deal with these issues. If you depend on them for email, you may not be getting important email from people/customers.
Just FYI.

RE: Lake House
Eric, wow. That's a great observation. Looking back at the image, I see how dead the windows look. Reflection of the world around, and possibly a hint of the interior would add a huge amount of life to the scene.
It's one of those artistic details that someone might miss.

RE: Lake House
Wow. Makes me want to move to the lake.

If it's by a lake, I'd love to see some of it. Location, location, location!

RE: Sketchup artist
Nice work, Tony! I like your subtle use of color that brings out the line work.

RE: Fun with Lego
Neat stuff. I love that church interior. You do not see many large interiors like that in brick form.
My favorite is this one:

RE: Solar system in the Park
I for one really love the idea. I don't mind the scale variance. Sometimes its valuable to educate through one's imagination than the reality. Plenty of ideas come to mind.
- The planets would be in their relative orbit (which is pretty flat, except for Pluto) hovering off of the ground. The lines on the ground would indicate their orbiting path.
- Each planet has a placard that includes planetary facts. I'd put them on the ground and connecting somehow to the orbit indicators.
- A placard at the center next to the Sun would explains the scale differences.
- Pluto because its orbit is off axis (more so than the rest) could be high off the ground, and nearly untouchable, adding a air of reach and distance it truly has.
- You could also pick an important time in history that would mark the planets position.
I love it!

RE: Calling all SketchUp experts (in the U.S.)!
Wow, CraigD, that sounds like fun. Too bad I have a job I love. Last year would have been perfect.

RE: Floater menus shrink out of way
Yeah that feature is on the mac version. Pretty nice feature.

RE: Drive'n the 50 wheeler, Good Buddy!
New image! This is interior.

You probably can't see the whole thing. Please go to my blog for the entire picture:
http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/?p=436tomislavm - It is rendered
I am rendering it close to how I'm going to render it for the book. Maybe after I'm all done I'll start some Podium renders. -

RE: I'm Back!
Shaun, that's a Yellowfin Tuna.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowfin_tunaI just looked online and found a current world record of 311 pounds. Wow. That was caught with a spear gun. Now that's a manly way to catch a fish.

I'm Back!
Back from a little Kauai vacation. I could have stayed longer of course. I'm still trying to get into "work" mode.
A picture of what I worked on in Kauai.

Now back to SketchUp.
