I'm not sure how other architectural firms are doing this so I'm asking here.
For computer stations operating on a network license, what is the best way to have each user manage their extensions for SketchUp? Should we create a shared google or Trimble account to sign in with where all extensions are managed for all stations? How would this work for purchased extensions? Should we create separate accounts for each user to sign in with so that they can manage and have their own personal collection of extensions?
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

RE: Trouble with extension lines
Anyone find a real solution for this yet?
I don't think the real question was ever addressed.
See the attached file for the lines that were originally questioned. -
RE: [Plugin] 2D Wall Section Tool v1.1 20110903
I've always loved this plugin for construction drawings.
Any updates or further developments? Works oddly in 2014. -
RE: [Plugin] bim-tools 0.13.4(june 22, 2015)
Great plugin. Lots of potential. How about imperial units?
Thanks! -
RE: [Plugin] SketchUcation Tools
I'm getting numerous errors when loading (double clicking) a skp file from a network location (ver. 2014). I had similar errors earlier with some of Thom Thom's plugins which he resolved. It loads fine from the desktop or on my computer locally. Only issues when selecting from a network location.
Thanks,

RE: [plugin] Structural analysis - SketchStruct: 30 Oct 12: v201
Great Plugin. Any chance for English units in the future?

RE: Some new videos of my process
Nick,
Would you have any of your scrapbooks publicly available? Seems like you've developed a nicely organized set.
Beautiful work.

RE: [Plugin] DoorMaker
No problem Paul. You have forgotten more Ruby than I'll ever know.
Guess we'll have to leave it up to other interested parties.
Thanks,

RE: [Plugin] DoorMaker
DoorMaker.rbI made some basic revisions to this myself to set different default settings.

RE: [Plugin] DoorMaker
I love and use this plugin often. However, is there a way to set the default sizes to Feet and inches? I am not at all familiar with the ruby programming, but I'd like to set the defaults to standard 3' x 7' doors with a standard frame and width and no material colors. Could those values be highlighted in the script for changing?
Thanks for any help,

RE: [Plugin] Shape Bender Beta
Thanks Dave,
I went back to a clean install plugins folder with the shape bender and all is working. Now, I just have to figure out which plugin is the culprit.

RE: [Plugin] Shape Bender Beta
Hi Dave,
I've attached the error from the ruby console. I have no clue what it means as I'm not a ruby guy.
I have a feeling it must be related to some other plugin.
Thanks for any help,
Mark

RE: [Plugin] Shape Bender Beta
I haven't read through every post here, but I am unable to get this script to work in version 8. It works fine in version 7 but I'm unable to make it work in 8. It may be due to other plugins since I use quite a few. I was just wondering if anyone else had run into problems with other plugins or if its a version 8 issue.

(Note that I suck at rendering).
Anyway, it was also Twilight for me where I started to "feel" what I am doing.
Don't underestimate your abilities my friend.

RE: Render software advice
Guys like Solo and Gaieus are the experts on this stuff, but programs like Twilight at least make it easy for the novice like me to do very nice renderings quickly. There are many presets for setting up materials and lighting quickly which can be somewhat daunting if you don't have a lot of experience with it. Also it has the ability to do HDRI skies which is another feature that seems to be on the checklist. Cost is always a major factor since realistic rendering isn't a major priority for our daily architectural workflow. I am extremely impressed with some of the work I've seen on Solo's web site and I believe he uses several renderers including Thea, Twilight, and others. I'm interested in their opinions on what are good renderers based on what an individuals specific rendering needs are.

RE: Render software advice
I'm a bit of a newbie with the rendering stuff, but I was wondering what is "displacement"? Does it do a realistic job of materials like grass without having to instance it? What are good easy to use renderers that incorporate this?
Thanks,

RE: Render software advice
I've had good luck with Twilight renderer for SketchUp which is also a stepchild of Kerkythea.

RE: [Plugin] DoorMaker
Does anyone know of compatibility issues or problems with this plugin for version 8?
I get continual bugsplats. I'm not sure what is causing this. This is one of my favorites.
