      I'm getting this error from Ruby on this;
      Error: #<NoMethodError: undefined method `/' for nil:NilClass>
I'm no Ruby guy, but this seems to be a method error.
      Any ideas?

    • Group and Component Axis always displayed

I'm working on a model created by another person in our office. For some reason all the first level groups and component individual axis are displayed and I cannot figure out what's causing this and how to turn them off. Anyone else run into this. It never happens to any of my models but seems to happen with his all the time. See attachment.
      Thanks for any help.

This a fantastic plugin! It really works great with SketchUp's sandbox tools. There's so much more I need to explore with this. It really opens the door to more organic forms. I look forward to its future development and tutorials.
      Thanks!

    • RE: Area of Materials grayed out

I finally removed all materials and added back material TEXTURES to determine the various areas. It appears to have worked, but I haven't checked it in real terms. It sure would be nice to be able to get some sort of material area report. The old cost ruby script theoretically was supposed to do that, but it just gives a cost value of $0. The Google generate report function in the file menu exports a summary that has a Material area header, but there are no values given in the column. Maybe there's just some inherent problem with a material summary given the groups and components issues. I'm not a ruby scripter, so I'm out of luck here.
      Thanks for any help,

    • Area of Materials grayed out

When right clicking on materials 'in model' you are able to determine the area of that material within the model. However, I am wondering why the area of some materials appear properly and for other materials the 'area' item is grayed out making it impossible to determine the area of that material?

Also, are there any ruby scripts available to itemize material areas? that could be helpful.
      Thanks for any assistance.

    • RE: IES vs. Energy Plus Plugins

      Thanks for your recommendations.
It might be best to hold off until the E+ is fully developed. I'll be following it. In the mean time I'll probably stick with the code recognized tools that don't involve SketchUp.
      Thanks again,

    • IES vs. Energy Plus Plugins

Does anyone have a comparison of features or know the benefits or disadvantages of the energy analysis tools that work as plug-ins for SketchUp?
There seems to be learning curves with both programs and I would prefer to only have to learn once, although it never seems to work that way in the end.
      Thanks for any advice,

      Thanks Bep van Malde!
That got it working properly, however I still am unable to activate the license.
It may be a Vista 64 user account issue or something.
I'm going to try to activate logged in as administrator.

      Goh Chun Hee,
I get the following error when opening SketchUp 7.0.

      Error Loading File 1001bit_loader.rb
      undefined method `+' for nil:NilClass

I also was not able to activate the license.
I copied and pasted the information, then clicked activate but nothing happened.
The program looks very cool though!
I'm looking forward to trying it out.
      Thanks,

I use TIG's test tag ruby quite frequently and it seems to hang forever in version 7.0.
Any idea why this might be so?

      This is a great ruby.
We often need to create graphic representations of building programs for clients prior to doing the design. This helps everyone understand the sizes of the different elements.
I look forward to this ruby development.

    • Editing 3D text after placement

I know there is the text tag script that does this, but it just takes forever. Is there a way to edit an already placed 3D text element using the native 3d text command?
