I recently learned making QTVR. If the still images does not have lighting (greyishness) differences than its ought to be problem with the image stitching and QTVR conversion software you're using. I'm using free version of a software called PANO2QTVR. It allows you to create movies our of equirectangular, cylindrical and cubic images.
Here is one quick Bath MOV made using above software.

Simply run, it navigate to a folder and select a file of the type to be imported - all files of that type get imported... β˜€

Sweet, Thanks TIG. You made my day.

    • Batch File Importer?

Hello! I'm looking for a plugin which will allow me to import batch of .dwg files into single sketchup files opposite to importing each one manually. Thanks in advance.

    • RE: Model Component Cleaning

Thanks Alan, I'll try your exporting re importing suggestion.

@thomthom: Thanks for your suggestion. well, some models come in low poly acad, dxf format which needs to be converted in to high poly ones. by high poly i mean at least have parts like pipe tube having around 12 segments. downloaded 3ds models are usually very high poly having more details than i required (especially furniture like sofa). Hence i was seeking both solutions.

@ solo: Thanks for the offer. here is the link of megaupload

    • Model Component Cleaning

I have downloaded couple of models in 3ds dxf and dwg format. I'm facing couple of issues in importing and modifying them in sketchup.

      1. Distortion of Geometry: I have tried couple of suggestions posted here (i.e. higher viewres for dwg and dxf / merginf co planer option/ increasing scale etc.) but none seem to be working. Although I was able to use some models with less distortion and correcting them with weld Ruby.

      2. Conversion of low poly to High poly: There is a problem specially with rounded surfaces (i.e. tubes or pipes) is there a way of increasing segments and making them decent enough for rendering?

      3. Reducing file size: I want to reduce the file size of some of the models. I have been using cleanup ruby along with purge command. Is there any other way to further reduce the size without the loss of model geometry?

I'm attaching one model as an example.
P.S. I have Autocad LT 2006 on my system.
