Hi Dave, I did all you said and it works now. The extension showed up the same as yours, 2024, but it still wouldn't work until I re-installed it. The 3D comes in as a separate group from the 2D now, but it comes in! Thanks so much.

Every swatch I try comes out flat. As far as I know, I run it as an admin, it's my personal copy. It's not an extension either, I just go to File/Add Location.

That's what I used to get in previous SketchUp versions! I'm using a PC, Windows 10.

I'm attaching two screenshots to show my process through Add Location. Is there something wrong there? How did you do yours?

I put in Estes Park to make sure I was getting terrain, not just flat land. Did you mean that there is no geolocation info available for that area?

Hi, I'm trying to use the Add Location in SketchUp 2024. It brings in the photo but no 3D volume even though I check 3D Mesh before importing, and 3D Terrain is turned on in Tags. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Ok, thanks! Well, in the newest version, which I'm using, it measures, resizes and creates guidelines in both modes. The only difference that I can see is that it only creates guide points in the second mode.

Is making guide points the only difference between the two tape measure modes now?

Hi, what is the difference in SketchUp 2024's Tape Measure modes (where you toggle the (--+ ) on and off with the CTRL key. The only difference I see is that the mode where the( --+ ) DOESN'T appear is unable to make guide points. Otherwise, I can make guidelines and resize the model in both modes. Thanks!

Ok, thanks again! One more question. I'm on a Mac and dragged a bunch of colors to the color wells at the bottom. How do I delete those colors from the color wells? It used to be I could drag a blank well over a color to delete it, but that's not working for me anymore.

Wait, so both the new color and the original texture will have the same name? So I would have to rename one, right?

What is the benefit of the "use texture image" feature in the materials edit box? It seems to mess up my model; maybe I'm doing something wrong. Why would I choose this feature over bringing in a texture via File/Import, which works well every time?

Thanks! So my takeaway is that they all ARE copies of each other and there’s really no difference in behavior between the definition (original) and the instances (copies).

What is the difference between them? Googling, I find info that tells me when I edit the definition all instances edit with it, but when I edit an instance, it makes that instance unique. Is that old behavior? Because when I edit an instance, it certainly does change all other instances and the definitions. So are these all really just copies and it doesn't matter which one is the original? Thanks!

In previous editions SketchUp would open with the last template used. Now you have to click a template choice splash screen each time. Is there a way to bypass that screen? And what is the significance of the heart under the template thumbnail? Is it just telling me that it was the last template I used? Thanks!

Where is it? When I check its box in the Toolbars dialog box, it doesn't appear on the screen. All the other toolbars appear when I check their boxes. What happened to to the dynamic components toolbar?
