Fredo, this is absolutely marvellous, the best plugin after Fredoscale imho.
Just got my hands on, i'll definitely dig more on the next days.
Here's a first attempt on a project I'm currently working on:

Very, very promising

Again, my best congrats to you.
Amazing!
I guess it is only a matter of time that we'll be able to see full rendered animations on our real desktops.
Just imagine a videogame played like that!

I've always had this wish, amongst others:
Alpha channel support when exporting images.
Extremely handy for grafic post production works..Fortunately ThomThom came to the rescue with this plugin for Windows: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=270998#p270998
Well-well, i didn't notice that!
Great work Thomas, as always!
Google people, I think you should PM the guy

Yes, it sounds perfect.
I'll try both options and see which is best for my work-flow.
Thank you again (for both helping and the plugin ;o) )
Thank you for the super-quick answer, Tig!
Indeed, it is not the same as the Acad xref function.
The fact is that I'll have to deal with several components, at least 100 of them in every single step, so the xref manager's list could be a problem BUT i guess it will occur rather rarely to use it, in that case it could be very handy, although tricky to use.
How can i enable that PC based option to reload all Skps automatically?
I'll give it a try to a dummy file to see how it works.
Hi all,
i have tho following question:
I am working on an instructions book for a complex machinery.
Being perfect for the purpose, I am using SU for all the steps of the assembling.
So I created a "master file" where i have the whole machinery completely assembled, and then i begin assembling it from scratch saving a separate SU file for each step.
The issue i am facing is this: some of the parts of this machinery may be modified while I'm still working on the instructions. Swapping the new parts in every file is out of the question, of course.
So i was thinking to save every single part as an external file and then import it as a component to every assembling file. When i update the "source" component, does this automatically updates all it's instances in the other files that it has been imported?
Is Tig's Xref manager the right plug-in for that?
Thank you

Will this plugin be FREE or a commercial item upon release?
Answer is FREE
Fredo
Amazing professional work AND great generosity.
You deserve the "SU Knight" gold medal, man!
I am speechless..

Yeah!
I guess back in the '70's there were no plasmas TV, too!
Much better..but not best!
It is still quite inaccurate
The welding's edges are perpendicular between them, so they don't adapt to the curved faces around..
Good tip, though

Yes, indeed this was part of the problem.
I scaled it and redone the whole thing, so no epty faces occured.
But Round Corners gives me some wrong geometry.
I tried welding the conjunction line first, but same result.
I am thinking about redrawing the elements with a higher number of segments for more accuracy...

Hi everyone, i guess this is a short of a newbie question, but i can't seem to get it out on my own:
I'm trying to weld these two entities, a dome and a torus.By welding i mean create a round corner union between faces, something like a real metal welding.
I have exploded them and then intersected them, but there in no union between them.
I was expecting something like a boolean operation, but the torus is still one piece, i mean that the torus's section above the dome's surface is still connected to the rest of it below.
So, when i try welding them with Round Corner, no edges can be selected.
Any suggestions?
Screenshot and skp attached.

i especially like the paper drawing on the wall.
Cute!

I wonder if it would be possible for this very useful plugin to choose whether to erase all those construction points inside the tube structure.
You get allot of them when you have a complex pipe path..No, they are there as snap-points for making connections, but there are several tools available to clear cpoints: or you could simply Delete Guides off the Menu will clear them + any clines.
For example, use my DeleteConPointsOnly.rb or TT's SelectionToy[GuidePoints]+delete_key can do this for you...
Personally, I have three shortcut keys that clear Cpoints, Clines and Cgeometry...
Just to say that i discovered a nice trick:
After finishing the command, i turn back a step by ctrl+z (or modify-undo pip's points) et voila! all control points vanished!
Am i genius or you guys already known that 1000 years ago?

You have to first enable the sketchup ruby script examples from Window > Preferences > Extensions > Ruyb Script Examples (or might be the one called Utilities tools). Enable them both, then you should get the point at center option.
Chris
ha!
i never knew this function came with SU.. i've been using jim f's arc_centerpoint.rb for a couple of years now.
Me too, seems that the ways of SU are infinite!
Thanks for the tip, Chris.
i know it may seem stupid, but why can't i see the context "point at center" menu when i right-click on an arc?
hmm. I too don't see any other choices...
