I think the trees look correct, but what I don't like too much is the people. They look flat and croped. Everything else looks great and the match is perfect, even the light.
Are you using HDRI for illumination?

I've never used a photo to composite, when I try I see soooo many lines that I get scared LOL. Some day maybe.

Your renders are getting so good that people might be starting to wonder if you just take pictures πŸ˜„

Very nice job [especially like the last one πŸ‘ ]

There are photographers that just take pictures and there are photographers who work very hard to make pictures because good pictures don't just happen by themselves.

      Totally agree with that

Tadema, I take my hat off... wait, I don't wear a hat!!! πŸ’š
A great image, with or without hats (and frogs)
And that b&w version is just WOW!!!

    • RE: Extremely Newbie Question

I'd first make one a component ant then I'd array them, so you have just one component repeated like 300 times. That way if you want to change something, you will change it just once and you will have a lighter file.

I don't find silly to model all those details in a moulding if you want to make close ups. When you make a final render they will stand out.
But then I read something about modeling individual tiles then, well, with all those fantastic reder engines I just find it too much.

    • RE: Should sketchup introduce 'CIRCLE' ?

But the name says it all!
it is for sketches, and it already does miracles compared to first bare versions when you populate it with plugins.
You must use the right tool for each job, and if you are looking for detailed landscapes, character design, organic forms, model solids... then probably you are not looking for SU.
I'm happy with what SU gives and that's why I'm learning other softwares to do what SU is not made for.

    • RE: "unexpected file format" right after saving and restarting.

That same thing happened to me. There was no way to open the file and I asked someone here in the forum (Gaieus) for help. I uploaded the file, he opened it without problems and kindly sent me back a copy (with some recomendations to have a cleaner model β˜€ ).
I still don't know what was the cause, but you could try...

    • RE: Containing famine

The idea sounds great, but wouldn't it be faster and cheaper to mitigate the famine, to fill those containers directly with cucumbers and milk?
Anyway, the population wouldn't directly be favoured with those I fear. Politics, mafia, war...
That happened in Haiti, that could hapen everywhere there is hunger but no organization. (and forgive my porr english)

I like the dusk interior with those large windows.
Is it a final presentation? Each image is nice in it's style, but I miss a common element to link them, a similar style to all of them.

      once again
great work on that gate tadema.
Do you create textures for every work you do or do you have a folder with basic textures which you then layer with dirt (or moss) in photoshop?

I wish I could sit on the chair next to yours while you work in one of your images...

      Another nicely textured model πŸ‘
I may be repeating myself, but it is what impresses me must because I try (but not manage to) give nice textures to my models.
Also the views you choose to show them are always eye catching.
I prefer it without cars, they don't look natural, and image 04.jpg is my fave ^^

Hello Henk, the border in the second image is done in Photoshop, using an eraser (brush) with jitter at around 15% opacity. Erasing the edges until your happy then apply stroke for the black border. I hope you understand.
      John

I'd say Henk was talking about hedges. The bushes, plants and all.
