First of all (this being my first post on this forum), hi there to everybody here, thanks to the people at the old sketchup forum for the URL to this forum in their sig's. I had a look at the new (Google) home of the sketchup forum and wasn't too impressed, seems disorganised and amateurish, or maybe I had some of the board setting wrong, but whatever the reason, I'm here now.

Onto the reason I created this topic, the housebuilder.rb script. I just recently got SU6 and am looking into the various ruby scripts and happen to come along the housebuilder ruby which is now also available in metric as well (essential since we in South Africa use the metric system, come to think of it, so does pretty much the rest of the world).

I have a few questions that I'd like some answers to:

1. What is the latest version of this ruby script?
2. Is it fully compatible with SU6?
3. How do I go about defining my own timber sizes (there are quite a few more that we use here in SA) in the script variables?
4. Please link an URL from where I can download it.

This subject has come up before. As you might imagine, the ruby scrambler is there to protect copyrighted ruby scripts. With this in mind, you can imagine that this program will not be readily available to protect it from being reverse engineered and such.

I would imagine that only bona fide developers will have access to this through Google SketchUp offices.

Hi Jim, thx for the ruby. I think that maybe we need to have a short desctiption of what the ruby does as well, this is something I've found lacking (in general) when sourcing ruby scripts on the web.

Welcome to the board and thanks for the contribution. In order to make contributions more useful we have requested that persons submitting ruby scripts also explain their usage as posted here and here.

Once we have these we can then add your scripts to the Ruby scripts depository.

Seems like a do-able workaround.

Thx for sharing, a bit heavy for a component, don't know why really as it seems simple enough, could it be the sheet music images?

Not as far as I know, maybe post it in the SketchUp wishlist.

What most seem to people do is build the description into their naming convention. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
