    • RE: Why the ruddy Dongle?

      Hello -

I was wondering if I could "reprogram" a mini usb (flash drive) and use it as the Vray dongle?

I'm on a laptop and it would be super nice to utilize something smaller. Working from home, at the office or in a client's office it's terribly inconvenient to always be locating, plugging in the dongle and then starting up the license software. What if other software packages required a dongle? I love Vray, but this is extremely annoying.

      Thanks in advance,
      Joe

    • SketchUp saves strange file to Windows server

This is the same file saved locally.Hello -

I've been using SketchUp for about 7 years and have a good working knowledge of the program. The other day I rebuilt the OS (Mountain Lion) on my mac and reinstalled SketchUp 8 Pro. I loaded all my plugins and shortcuts, and started using the SketchUp. Sketchup started a strange behavior. I found that SketchUp will save properly to my local drive. However, it save a very strange file to the network Windows server.

The file has a long name such as:
      9A630423-679C-4EB7-A2DF-2BF4A80A4485-1479-0000018ED895EAEB

I'm not sure what's happening. None of our other computers are doing this. I tried uninstalling SketchUp and reinstalling several times. I've also used AppDelete to make sure all the files were removed.

Any help would be greatly, greatly, greatly appreciated.

      Please help!!!

    • Object lines won't show up

      Hello -

I have this SketchUp 8 (PC) file.

The lines of the objects won't show up. It's not a style thing. The lines are not hidden. The file is essentially a bunch of boxes. I must be missing something.

      Here's the file.

    • RE: OS X Thumbnails for SketchUp files

Thanks so much for your advice. Graphic Converter worked.

I sure do wish Finder would just display the thumbnail properly.

      Go Steelers!

    • OS X Thumbnails for SketchUp files

Hello all - I've done some searching on the forums, but I really haven't found a solution. I'm looking to see thumbnails of SketchUp files in OSX's finder. I recently moved from XP(32bit) to OSX. XP (Explorer) shows thumbnails no problem. I've heard that 64bit windows systems have had some issues. On my Mac (SU8) I've turned on "Custom Icon" when I save files and it will produce a low res thumbnail to view in the finder, but all my other SketchUp files show the default icon. I've tried XnView as some other posts have suggested, but (for me) it shows icons and not a thumbnail of the actual file. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
