Shade Cover over Spa
We'll be building a neat little shade cover over an outdoor spa.
We built this patio cover last year, http://woodsshop.com/Patio_Cover/1/PatioCover.htm
and now it's time to complete the project. This first photo shows the spa site,
this shows the existing cover on the left, then the spa cover to the right
this is what we'll be building

RE: SketchUp .skm Materials
Thanks for those Wood textures! Now, how can I view them (as .skms) before importing the ones I'd like, into SUp?

RE: SEO Trick I came up with
Oh, don't mind at all Gaius, I didn't know those links were bad.
I thought these forums weren't bot friendly?

RE: SEO Trick I came up with
Check this out, two days ago I created a "Build a Torii Gate!" thread on Google Groups,
two days, and I'm already # 5 on search results when you
google search for "Build a Torii Gate" http://tinyurl.com/26dp5s -
Torii Gate
I sure enjoy seeing my structures getting built, and really appreciate it when
clients send me nice pics ! Being so close and intimate with my SUp
models, it's so very nice seeing them come to life!http://www.woodsshop.com/Japanese/Torii-Gate/Build-Torii-Gate_.htm
These are my Torii Gate Plans http://www.woodsshop.com/ToriiGatePlans.htm

RE: Task Manager Monitor
Geeze! that has to be one of the fastest replies ever! the incoming email notification almost startled me!
Oh that's great, clicking that cpu, now I can see the culprits at the top, many thanks for that!

Task Manager Monitor
I've been having issues with my CPU usuage spiking up and down. I open up Task Manager>Processes and see a long list, and it's very hard to spot which Process is spiking. The spiking can happen very quickly and by the time I've scrolled up or down it's usually stopped.
Is there an easier way (or program)to spot what process is spiking?

RE: SEO Trick I came up with
Sorry, didn't make that very clear. Not really so much a SEO trick but rather a way to get found. People open up that google thread and there are links to your site. I bet it does help your search results too having those links, combined with keywords on the page next to the links.
Oriental Summerhouse? Alan, I'm almost thinking about doing that, just to see how fast it appears in the search results!

RE: Folder Problems, renaming images
Naw, I really doubt it's a mouse problem because I can see that left Picture Tasks area jumping around. Wonder if it's caused by some CPU spikes I've been having from time to time .. Haven't thought about that, next time it happens I'll check the CPU because the problem only happens occasionally.
Hasn't anyone else had this same problem? Don't tell me I'm the only one, again.

SEO Trick I came up with
I figured out that if I post a thread on the (very high ranking) Pro Gallery/Google Groups, and use my targeted keywords in the thread title, it comes up very quickly on a Google Search
Like if you type in "Japanese Gazebo" (I sell Kits and Plans) http://tinyurl.com/yvpvrz
there I am, 3rd or so from the top, my Gazebo Plans Page
Then in that Pro Gallery Thread i started, I also link to a few of the images I've placed on my Gazebo Plans Page, hoping that this will help out with the Google Image Search.
I also put a link on my Page, back to that Pro Gallery Thread Page, cause that's what Google likes to see, links between relevant pages.
I've done this for quite a few keywords now. Pretty sneaky, but every little bit helps!

Folder Problems, renaming images
I've been having this problem for 6 months or so it seems, but I can't really remember when it first started happening. I'll R click an image and choose rename. I start to rename it, but then it jumps out of Editing mode, and I need to R click it and try again. Sometimes this'll happen 2 or 3 times in a row, sometimes it won't happen at all.
I can also see that Picture Tasks area to the left, jumping around when I'm having this problem, scrolling up and down in short little steps. Sometimes when I'm renaming a file, everything will freeze up for 10-15 seconds too, and I can't do any actions in the folder until it unfreezes.
Anyone else ever have this problem and have a solution?
I'm using Win XP home.

RE: Deck and Shade Structure
It gets pretty hot up here 15 miles from the coastline, so the shade structure will be going up first!, if we end up doing this project. (keep your fingers crossed for me
Here are more of the design images
http://woodsshop.com/PROJECTS/Deedes-Deck/-Deedes-Deck.htmI also made two 3D models for this,
the 3D.pdf http://woodsshop.com/PROJECTS/Deedes-Deck/Deede3dPDF.pdf
and 3D.html http://woodsshop.com/PROJECTS/Deedes-Deck/Deede3d/Deedes3d.html

Deck and Shade Structure
Oh boy is this a beautiful site for a deck, sitting high up on a hill overlooking all of coastal San Diego. It's also nice that it's multi-million $ property with an owner who doesn't mind spending money for a quality product
Here's a shot of the Site with the same approximate SUp View.

RE: Image Viewers
Oh, I know about the Filmstrip and Thumbnails, I mean, after I click the image to view it full screen, I need to minimize it first before I go back to it's Folder to open another image full screen. When I'm Sketching a project, I often have a few Site Photos I refer to. I remember having a Viewer that had all the thumbnails I had opened up at the bottom of the full screen, and the image I was currently looking at was full screen. Just like the Filmstrip Folder View, only the t nails at the bottom weren't all the ones in that Folder, but rather only the ones I had already viewed.

Image Viewers
What do you use to Open jpg images? I have Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Don't like it because I can only have one image at a time Open with it, and if I want to View another image, I need to go back to its folder to open it.
I remember having another viewer that had little thumbnails (of other images I had Opened) down on the bottom of the window. I'd like that feature again.
I don't need to do any editing, just viewing.

RE: Roof Membrane Advice
I don't know Sketchy, I do alot of laminating, and curves, and laminating curves that curve in two directions is very difficult, especially with extreme curves as in Fred's model.
Not impossible, but something he should address before he gets much farther into this design.
