by misstakes u mean the plants rite??? u just need a png image and turn on the alpha map in the clipping option!

In rendering there are three imp things.. first is the modelling itself.. the higher the details the more realism! the next important thing is texturing... what u cannot do with modeling can be done upto a certain extend with proper texturing.... the next important and perhaps the most difficult of all things is lighting... u get the lighting rite.. then ur unstoppable!
all different render engines have their own pros and cons.. so make sure ur comfortable with ur render engine.. the material creation is different for each render engine. so make sure u understand how ur engine deals with materials!
observe photos in magazines and see how the pros compose their photographs! learn how they light up interior scenes.. sign up with CG forums.. u can get a lot of knowledge just lurking around such forums...

texture this baby...add an infinite plan, instance some grasses and trees and use a tree line global and render in PPT mode.. u should get a nice clean image after 60-70 passes!
i say to render in PPT mode coz its only lit buy the sun!
