Hi Todd, hi folks.
Better late than never.
Happy birthday
Bonjour.
Salutations.
Hi Susan, hi folks.
On when modeling and off when I want to present pictures or the 3D model to convey an idea.
Also, in most of the tutorials I do, I have the axes visible for the first scene in order for the viewer to get some orientation. Then for succeeding scenes, I usually turn the axes off.

Hi folks.
To select only the perimeter of a filled face, you can use anyone of these three methods:
1 - Go to Wire Frame Mode and select the perimeter.
2 - Delete the face to keep only the perimeter and then select it.
3 - Select the face and its perimeter either with a double clcik on the face or with a window select. After that, SHIFT click to deselect the face and keep only the perimeter selected.
Once you have the perimeter selected, the Entity info will gives you the total perimeter up to the precision you have set in your units.
You can get this entity info, as Bep indicated it, by a rigth click on the perimeter or by leaving the entity info window permanently shown on the screen (this is what I do). A larger screen (or two screens) helps in this case.

Hi folks.
Using a very long focal length or a very narrow angle of vision will be very close to parallel projection in SU. The smalest angle is 1° and the largest value for focal length is 2063 mm.

Hi Wheay, hi folks.
Show hidden geometry (Menu View --> Hidden Geometry).
Hidden faces will appear as transparent with a criss cross of lines. Right click and choose unhide or select and uncheck Hidden in the Entity Info window.
It is in the help that I always suggest people to read and reread.

Hi Solo, hi folks.
"viola" should read "Voila".

Hi Steve6, hi folks.
Try this:
1 - Delete the last balustrade that is causing the problem.
2 - Copy one of the exploded balustrade and paste it to replace the deleted one.
Save the file and then export.

Hi Aohmz, hi folks.
Cool !!!
What is the deadline for this one ?

Hi Steve6, hi folks.
Then tell your architect that is geometry is flawed and that nothing can be done with that. Show him the model and :
1 - Orbit the model that you sent to look at the two main roof panels as close as possible from their respective side. A coplanar panel will show as a line. The panels in your model wont show as lines since they are warped.
2 - Try to zoom very close to the junction between the two main panels, especially at its lowest part. You will see that it is open. The gap is very small but it is there. The fact that the junction is showned as profiles is a good indication that there is a problem there. Otherwise, it would show with a thin line.
I still stand on my opinion that creating a pocket at the base of the chimney is not a good idea.

Hi Steve6, hi folks.
The two main roof panels in your model are not coplanar. They are warped.
Also, their junction is not a junction since there are gaps all along. Zoom closely in and you will see.
One more problem, you are creating a pocket near the base of the chimney that will accumulate water or melted snow unless you provide a drain. This pocket will eventually get full of debris like fallen leaves and whatever.

Hi Jon, hi folks.
Maybe you made a group or a component with you whole model.
Maybe you imported your model instead of opening it and it came in as a component.
When you click on a part of the model, do you see a large bounding box instead of the highlite of only the selected part ?
If not, can you post the model here ?

Hi Rachid, hi folks.
If you go to the SU site and download the Architecture Bonus Pack (free), you will get about a dozen of glass doors (simgle panel, double panels, double with sides, sliding, revolving, etc.
The bonus packs can be found at:
http://sketchup.google.com/download/bonuspacks.html
Choose any one and then start from that to embelish it. You may, for example add frosted lettering to a glass panel by using 3D text. Paint the letters with a concrete texture that you make slightly translucent. You can change the coloring and transparency of the glass.
Read the help about the Paint Bucket Tool, colors and textures and also about how to edit these.

Hi Steve6, hi folks.
Even if all lines connect around the roof perimeter, they must also be coplanar for a face to form.
If you have to stitch, it means that one or more vertex are out of the plane that should form the roof.
Can you post the model or at least the offending part ?

Hi Susan, hi folks.
See this SU file:
FollowMe2.skp
It is funny, it uploaded without problem. I have be trying to upload it since the last 3 days, as well as the next one that definitively will not upload.
See also this other SU file:
Sorry to be posting it on Google groups but I have problems uploading files on SCF.
Hi Per, hi folks.
When in the Styles window, click on the small house to get to the "In Model" styles.
Click on the style you would like to modify or add a new one if you want.
Click on the Edit tab.
Click on the Edges icon (the leftmost one) and uncheck "Profiles". These will now be shown as normal edges. You may keep them but change their thickness.
You can also uncheck edges if you want.
Update the style.

Hi Jhearcht, hi folks.
Can you post the model or at least the part that is causing a problem ?
