RE: Learning & practising on model req by friend (KT)
I see. Thank you.
I might need to look for advanced texture tools later. -
RE: [Plugin] DoorTool - 7 tools, incl. icons
Hi there tomot,
Would you mind if I ask you a question? I've been using Door Tool and Window Tool for few days now.
Trying to learn and to use them well. It really helps a lot. Speeding up things to do with door and window making.I wonder if there is a way to customise these plugins. Like creating separate parts on the frames?
It might be very helpful when it deals with wood frames, I think. With wood grains flow along either the vertical or horizontal groups/components.
Also about the glass. Can I customise the colour of it? Like changing it to use Gray Translucent as default for example?Admiring your works. Great plugins.
Thank you,

RE: Learning & practising on model req by friend (KT)
Thank you sir,
I thought about that when I do some experiment with right clicking.
Found the Texture context menu there. I don't remember which Texture Tool should be installed though. Most Texture plugins (2-3) are either from you or Thomas, I think.
Did the positioning and projecting within the last adjustment.
But finally edit them in KT with its own materials and creating a new material for the column. The Door Tool and Window Tool are good plugins from Tomot. I guess I need to do some work separating vertical and horizontal parts afterward.

RE: Wall plugins: looking for one that works really well
Hi Edson,
Yes I agree, tak2hata BST plugin is very useful for concrete building.
I've been using the same Wall tool quite a while. And it also adjustable on the thickness.
The RC Column probably need adjustment, but need to edit the profile to do that.House Builder still good for wooden structure I guess. I hope someone will take the initiative to improve either one. BST might have a good chance to improve, since tak2hata still around and quite active in the forum. Let's just hope so.

RE: Wall plugins: looking for one that works really well
Thank you sir
I'll see what I can do about that. Interesting on that renaming and recalling them back with Ruby Console.
Although, that might be a bit scary for me. Since I don't dare to do anything with the console before -
RE: Material Orientation Change Upon Component Creation
this is a good topic. might be useful if i can find this in tutorial section perhaps.
thank you all

RE: Learning & practising on model req by friend (KT)
Gaieus,
Did you suggesting to paint the surfaces individually rather than painting the group or component?
There are only 3 tutorial about material in the Tutorial Section. All 3 were made by Alan Fraser and all about importing or creating new material.

RE: Wall plugins: looking for one that works really well
I see.
I've been thinking on how to use Additional Plugins by Fredo in the proper way.
But it wont work with certain plugins. So, some plugins aren't installed or placed in the Plugin's directory.
I have to install them anytime whenever I think they are necessary.
I like the way Bezier and Quad Face Tools can be disabled from the Preference menu. Just uncheck the box and it wont be loaded next time SU restarted.
Thank you for the help sir -

Any idea what performance difference there is in the GTX 580 or 590?
Check the link of a website showing comparison of price and performance posted by Gaieus up there.

RE: Learning & practising on model req by friend (KT)
I forgot about the frame. Made those with Door Tools and Window Tools from Tomot. Was trying to learn some new plugins. They do speed up the work. I guess they don't make separate vertical and horizontal parts for the frame. They aren't the usual handmade component I use to make. I'll change that.
I'll try to use the KT materials next time or try to make new ones if necessary. I'll share them if they're worth it.How to align the texture either vertically or horizontally? And wrap the stone in SU?
Thank you Gaieus

RE: Wall plugins: looking for one that works really well
Actually I don't have much on the desktop or SU toolbar.
I found most of the plugins are too complex to have or to use.Another good reason is what people like Csaba, Alan, Jean or any other SCF seniors often say
something like "... try to make use and learn of those native tool. most of the time, those native tools are sufficient for any purpose... you need to learn the basic before advancing to more complex tool... "there are some other plugins not seen on the screen, as they are either disabled on toolbar view, not loaded from the start, or not even in the plugin directory either. 2D Tools, Tools on Surface, Teapot, Quad Face Tools, Building Structure Tools, Make Fur, Component Spray, Window Tools, Door Tools, and Bezier Tools. Roof.rb doesn't have toolbar. House Builder isn't in the Plugin directory atm. Toggle Units and TT CleanUp are always there but not seen on the screen. I don't use BTM Sculpt often, because I seldom create ground from a mesh.

RE: [WIP] NPR Brick Pattern
Hi Rich,
Are you talking about having multilayer material features in SU?

RE: Wall plugins: looking for one that works really well
Hi Walt,
Sorry for late reply. I have no problem installing HB plugin on Win except for the beep.
I am using the metric modified by Didier Bur. Sometimes it makes some context menu grayed.
I can deal with it by restarting SU sometimes. -
RE: Learning & practising on model req by friend (KT)
Hi Charly
I think your link didn't really catch the exact location of the thread you'd like to point out there.
I assume you're pointing to render method and setting?
I used 17. PT Progressive for the two of those with little white dots on the surface. Made it in a hurry, didn't wait long enough for more laps. The one near the front door was using the preliminary setting, PM FG probably.Thank you Charly.
