If you use the Sketchucation plugin store, you will later have the possibility to use the update function for installed plugins...
Or if you update your SU version, you can use the bundle function to install fresh copies of all plugins with one click...
If I isolate a small part of the terrain by copying and pasting it outside, the section cut works normally. It appears to be related to size of the terrain.
See added scene 4 in this SU file for an idea that doesn't affect the terrain since it is a separate group.
Any of the blocks can be made as a component or group and then manipulated as you wish by moving or rotating. You can use the Push/Pull tool to modify the dimensions of each making it shorter/longer or narrower/wider.
the road elements need to be in a different group not to interact with terrain. Use a thickening plugin to give sides to the road or whatever it is, which reach down or intersect terrain so it is not a just a magic carpet floating above.
But if you must model the terrain for cut and fill as is always done in reality it gets complicated and, short of more advanced software, careful modeling is required. Always save a group of the original terrain for later adjustments and reference.
