    • RE: [Plugin] KML Tools (2.0.0-beta) โ€” updated 31.05.2013

Thanks. This is just the tool I've been looking for. I only used it once so far but it worked beautifully (well, actually when I used it without first importing the location (just imported the kml) it was kind of screwy, but when I imported the location first it worked perfectly.
One thing that I thought might be useful to people: I didn't unzip the kmz. From Google Earth I just saved the polygons etc as kml, then imported that with you plugin.

      thanks again,

      Huck

    • RE: [Plugin][$] Tools On Surface - v2.6a - 01 Apr 24

thank you. Thank You. THANK YOU!!
I haven't tried all the tools but the Freehand on Surface (without inference) is something I have been praying for, for a long time. Inference was constantly making tracing things or making freehand lines with small movements incredibly slow and frustrating. This is a godsend.
I wish I knew a better way to thank you.

    • RE: [Plugin] Polar line - 20110525

I downloaded your ruby and everything seemed to work OK, but when I filled in the parameters: length (10'), angle (45), plane (red-green) and clicked "OK", there was no line. What could I be doing wrong?

I am attaching a screen shot (with different parameters) in a separate post. I tried posting this once but it didn't seem to work (forgive me if it comes up twice) and maybe the screen shot was the problem.

Thanks. Tried it. This version has no conflict with shape bender.

Where would I find the updated version?
And, looking at the other posts, is it worth doing now? (I'm happy to give it a try, but couldn't find how to download the latest version).

Since I like to use component spray occassionally, is there a solution to using both?

Download the updated version of Component Spray.

Yes, I have component spray installed. I removed it and shape bender worked fine.

Since I like to use component spray occassionally, is there a solution to using both?

Also, I'm wondering if having lots of plugins installed slows sketchup? (I have quite a few and some I use infrequently).

I can't seem to get the ruby to work.

Do you by chance have component spray installed? That plugin seems to be breaking progressbar. If you have it installed, remove it and then restart SU and then try to run shape bender again.

      Yes, clf_shape_bender.rb is in the clf_shape_bender folder.d

      @dave r said:

Well, it isn't a problem with your SKP file. I was able to run the plugin with no problem.

Out of curiosity, is clf_shape_bender.rb is the the clf_shape_bender folder?

    • RE: [Plugin] Shape Bender Beta

      I tried all the suggestions:

      1. I did as Pilou suggested.
      2. I reinstalled progressbar.rb
      3. It does appear that the program is still running considering the message at the bottom. However, I waited one half hour with no result. I thought the cube and arc would be a very simple test.

Is there some setting in Sketchup that could affect this?
      Any other help?

I attached the screen shot of the new test.
I also am attaching the Sketchup file.

    • RE: [Plugin] Shape Bender Beta

I can't seem to get the ruby to work.
All I get is a line at the bottom that says "5%. End @ ? (1 of 5) Searching for objects to explode."
      Nothing more happens.

      Here is what I did:
I downloaded the zip file, unzipped, copied the folder and the 1kb ruby file to my plugin directory, started Sketchup, made a rectangular component, drew a line on one edge of the component, drew an arc, selected the component, started the plugin, selected the line, then the arc, go the line noted above and nothing else.

I attached a screen shot of what I get.

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?

      Thanks,

      Huck

    • RE: Notepad++

I didn't know you could execute a file directly from Notepad++. The way I've been doing it is:

      1. save the file
      2. go to Ruby Console in Skectchup and "load" the file (not too hard because the load command is saved and you can execute it again each time you modify the file"

did you discover a more direct way to do it?

      Hi Dan,

If I remember correctly you were going to start using Notepad++ (but hadn't used it yet). Did you start? Do you have the file for autocompletion? (I think there are more than one around.) The one I have is useful but seems to miss a few things, oddly enough "def" is one of them.

    • RE: Notepad++

I'm new to both notepad++ and Ruby.
Notepad++ in Settings>Backup/AutoCompletion allows you to choose
"Function parameters hint on input". I checked this box but don't see
any results when I'm writing a program. Anyone have experience with
this? Does it require another file like the autocompletion does?

      Anyone using this add on?
Do you know if there is some sort of manual for the free version?
In particular I would like to have the 3D model on a web page with other text on the page. Can this be done?

      thanks,
