A precision blueprint is essential
It might be essential, but it's not always available. Many of the cars I model have no blueprints available at all, let alone a "precision" blueprint. I'm lucky if I can find a good profile photo, and even then it's a perspective shot so it's distorted. So what would you do in a situation like that?

RE: Roadster Update
Wow, is that my model? Looks good. I had a sort of matte finish in mind for the black around the fenders and hood. Noticed the trunk lines disappeared, mainly because I didn't leave a gap there for rendering. What render program do you use?
I've more or less decided to learn how to render this winter. Something to do when I get snowed in. I'll probably go with Kerkythea.
Thanks for taking the time to render my humble little machine.

Looks like it's gonna be a great automobile!
I, too, would like to see some shots with hidden lines.

You may use FF for browsing the web but SU uses IE as its built in browser on the Windows system. So it does matter.
Yeah, I knew that. I keep IE up to date because you just can't get around having to use it for some applications. Thanks for the tip, tho

RE: Roadster Update
If anybody's interested, I have uploaded the model to the Warehouse, titled Roadster Concept

RE: Another silly Warehouse problem
Well, it started working, for no apparent reason. One of those maddening problems that fixes itself so you never know what caused the problem in the first place.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions. -

Did you try using Firefox or Chrome?
What IE version are you on?
I do use Firefox. I avoid IE like the plague.

Click on the "G" icon in the status bar and make sure your are logged out. Then close SketchUp and clear the cache and cookies in Internet Explorer settings. Does this work?

Have you checked your antivirus settings? Sometimes they are set to block certain programs from accessing the internet - if so, just disable it temporarily, or download from your browser and copy/paste into your model.
Thanks for the suggestion, I have checked my antivirus programs and there's nothing there that would interfere. Not sure what you mean by "download from your browser and copy/paste into your model".

Another silly Warehouse problem
OK, I've been trying to upload a model to the Warehouse, but after I enter my email address and password I get this message -- "Unable to Connect - Check your internet connection settings". Well, my internet connections are just fine, I can connect to the web or the warhouse or anything else with no problem. Any susggestions? (I researched this as much as possible before resorting to this, I hate having to post silly questions
)

Here's an idea....Dave's driveway

RE: All My Work Gallery Post ( Updated Dec 7th 2011 )
Well, this tears it - I've gotta learn how to render!
Beautiful work!

I would sell my soul, my cat, and half my bologna sandwich to be able to create something this fantastic!

Or for the free version, there is this ruby, courtesy Jim Foltz:
Wow, thanks! I've been looking for something like this! Now I won't have to painstakingly rotate my models to see which angle looks best with shadows. Just enter in a new angle and presto! Much appreciated.

RE: 88 reloaded
Looking really fine. I love how you did the sandbags.

I am getting a little impatient trying to learn how to texture it properly in an external app.
Which app are you going to use? I have a ton of good graphics programs, but I only use two with SU, Photoshop and Digital Image Pro 9. Each one has it's advantages depending on just what you need to do with the texture.
