      WOO HOO!!!
      β˜€

I have now opened two SERIOUS PROBLEM SCENES in SketchUp 7.1.
I can actually Orbit AND use the WALK THRU TOOL in these now, and they open in seconds instead of minutes or never!

In 7.0 I wouldn't dareturn viewing of textures on in these or I could just forget about getting any work done.

Great work Google SketchUp team, and all beta testers hard at work back there... SketchUp just took a giant leap for me today. πŸ‘ πŸ‘

      avec su2kt 3.1, il y a la choix pour 'export face-me components'.
puis, pour rendu l'animation il faut utilizer cette choix.

c'est SU qui support face-me components, pas KT. πŸ˜‰

This is true of progressive render methods, but it matters a LOT with Easy methods 1-7. The time difference is most in methods 1,2,& 4 (the fastest settings)

    • RE: Reducing frames

be sure of course SketchUp>Window>Model info>Animation>Scene Delay = (0) zero!

then, first and foremost be sure you are rendering at the correct resolution for the final... do not render 'larger' than needed, then downsize, as this adds a lot of time in rendering animations.

choosing 10fps will, I imagine, get the job done... but it would be 'marginal' quality for most 'pros' to ever use that. That is, when you watch the video, you will notice a slightest pause after each frame. I suggest doing one or 2 seconds on lowest render setting at 10fps to check and see. If that's not good enough, in my experience many clients are happy with 15fps. πŸ˜‰

however, I myself, have been forced into rendering animations at 10 or 15fps in other apps I've used, including Viz, Vue Infinite, and Kerkythea... it is common to all apps that rendering an animation takes time. (it depends on computer power available to you)

This is why people create and sell time on a 'render farm'. Or have an in-house net rendering system set up. Or buy an inexpensive new computer with 8 threads.

If you ask on Twilight's forum, there may be someone willing to help you render the animation, and you would come to an agreement with them on the price that you would pay them to render for you (a per frame or per second of animation cost).

If you ask at Twilight's forum, I'm guessing someone there can tell you 2 great methods of how to net render an animation using Twilight and multiple machines. πŸ˜‰

We at Twilight Render have noted that the effort at SketchUpBar to remove illegal softwared appears legitimate, and has received the support of their forum members. πŸ˜„

This is to be encouraged and applauded. Thank you, tas_1985 or egoddess for your understanding.
We have accepted their apology for posting illegal software for download, and have encouraged them strongly to remove ALL pirated software from their servers and forums.

We look forward to a future when everyone can have software in their language without adding trouble to it.

As the Chinese (and all countries) stand together against the pirates, they will find much more support in the world than they may at first believe... β˜€

We will have Twilight available in several languages in the coming months...
Hope to see you at Twilight Render,

We (people) depend, rather, on the 'good guys' out there to do what is right. We have all made mistakes and needed forgiveness at some point in life.**

Hi Puck, thanks for the good words about Twilight, we worked very hard to make it that easy. πŸ˜„

We are about to release a maintenance version, so keep your eyes open. It will allow you to render much larger image resolutions, and due to some optimizations in other areas such as handling image updates much better, it also gains speed in progressive render settings... plus a few other little bonuses... πŸ˜„

Maintenance releases are free for all licensed users, trial users will need to re-download and re-install the trial.

Thanks Scott for your support and good answers as well. πŸ‘ It is very difficult to compare engines 'apples to apples'... what is important to us at Twilight Render is not to be better than anyone else, but rather to be fun to use with deep features and high quality.

ps - loading HDR studio images into the spherical sky or probe sky will give excellent studio renders... but real photographers and hard-core render gurus will tell you a 'true' studio is one you can adjust for each scene. We will therefore be providing a studio scene very soon just for this purpose.

      All the best,

TAS_1985 was not the one posting illegal software on your website. 😐 you have banned them for confirming something that is already known, that your website is selling illegal software while claiming to be a legitimate distributor of Google SketchUp in Asia.

      @Tas_1985
Thank you for saying that you will delete the illegal download for Twilight Render. However, there still appears to be a download button in a thread at SketchUpBar's site. 😐

In addition, we are still waiting for you to remove all links and threads regarding downloading any illegal/unauthorized software from your website. We can see there are a lot of them.

You can not claim that you are 'better' than the other guy because your illegal software is free...

Most people here would agree that the talented and enthusiastic Chinese 3D community deserves Chinese language software. Providing it illegally is not the honorable way to achieve this goal.

      There is another site http://www.sketchupbbs.com < http://www.sketchupbbs.com>
It is a commercial services site, its administrator often copy and paste many articles from SCF to his site to reach his business purpose.
He even releases the twilight cracks in his site:

...and will never be in pocket by using your works or releasing cracks and pirated software.

We respectfully request that the administrator of sketchupbbs immediately remove all distribution of Twilight Render from the sketchupbbs servers/forums.

We will find someone who respects copyrights to help us make available a Chinese version of Twilight. But it will NOT BE DISTRIBUTED LEGALLY ANYWHERE OTHER THAN OUR WEBSITE.

Allowing/encouraging your forum members to distribute stolen property will give you only a bad name around the world.

May I kindly suggest that ALL ILLEGAL DISTRIBUTIONS BE REMOVED for ALL software?

Thank you for your reply, egoddess,

My name is Shane Fletcher, Partner at Twilight Render.com

We respectfully request your site take action against this illegal distribution immediately. Twilight Render is very inexpensive and high quality. There is no reason to steal it. We made Twilight inexpensive so that it would be accessible to everyone.

Twilight Render has obviously been ILLEGALLY PIRATED AND REDISTRIBUTED ON YOUR SITE. This is both sad and shameful. If it were truly "For Educational Purposes" then Pisces would have contacted us and ASKED for permission to translate and redistribute. We were never asked nor contacted, though our contact information is easily available.

In addition, Pisces, or a partner, has "Re-branded" Twilight Render for this illegal distribution, changing the logo from yellow to green, and Illegally re-used a rendering WE PERSONALLY CREATED with Twilight.
      %(#BF4000)[So they have stolen:

      1. Our Software, 1. our Logo, 1. our Images, and 1. our potential customers.

In addition, Pisces is apparently claiming copyright on something Pisces was never given permission to do, and obviously knows is illegal and wrong. We, again, respectfully request your site take action against this illegal distribution immediately.]

We are pleased with all the talented and creative Chinese users finding Twilight Render so easy and fun to use. πŸ˜„

Twilight Render is very OPEN AND WELCOMING to creating versions in different languages, and we are also committed to providing help for "educational" institutions... those interested need only to ASK and be given permission. We will gladly work with someone to translate the software, but rights will NOT be given to redistribute on any other website for pay or free. We are the only one with the right to distribute Twilight Render. Pisces clearly knows this. 😐

    • RE: [Request] 'Clever Clay' mode

      OK, after some research...

The clay render does maintain bumps... it is a 'feature' not a bug.
Typically clay renders are done for studies on light, and this is usually before many materials or any have been applied.
The fact that Twilight makes is so easy to apply a bump map makes leaving of the bump maps more 'obvious'... but as Gaieus has pointed out, not the end of the world.

For now, it will remain as it is. In a future release we may enhance the clay render settings.

We can see about optimizing the clay render settings further, (any user can do this themselves) but as it is, I would suggest trying the Low+ render setting, you will find it does a pretty nice job.

**important tip with clay renders -**Disable the sun, and set the sky to "Sky Color" and choose a light gray color. This gives very nice results very quickly.

Well, the brick clay render looks pretty cool, actually. πŸ˜„ πŸ˜†

hmmm... we will look into this and be in touch.
Linking it to the diff. SU modes is not the best idea, in my humble opinion, because those on laptops with bad graphics cards may run in a monochrom-ish mode or something, but when they hit render, expect the whole enchillada. πŸ˜„ well, perhaps there's something that can be done about that.

The clay render modes are increased quality because people were asking for perfect soft shadows. If you want quick, try the 'low' setting, and set sun to radius 5-10. It defaults at 50 to match perfectly with Kerkythea's sun.
