RE: Ideal GC for SU
You have a pretty decent spec and can run SU fine as it is if you are a little more careful with you method of modelling.
As modelhead mentioned though, the graphics card is possibly causing you a slight slowdown.
I have the same problem with my workstation at work, good processor and memory, but a 64mb graphics card!!
I really have to carefully use layers and scenes to keep different components on which helps tremendously. -
RE: Go-to-school
You are right about those go 2 school podcasts jmac, I only recently discovered them and was surprised how good they are.
I can't wait for their next dvd to hit the market, I will definately be purchasing it.Dylan

RE: Concept images
These look really good from what I can see. Unfortunately the image size is so small.
I do like the look of the Style you have used/created.Dylan

RE: ImageProfile script almost ready
Not sure if I fully understand exactly what it will do.
So if I have a photo of a tree for example saved as a png, can I use this script to upload it and imageprofile will trace the tree, cut it out and create a component?Dylan

RE: Help
Perk, the weld.rb you place in your plugins folder. When you open SU you will see it in the Plugins dropdown menu.
Soapskin, download zip file. Unzip it all to tools folder. Once in SU, go to View/Toolbars scroll down to soapskin and tick.
This will place a small toolbar in SU. -
RE: Help
An interesting looking model Perk. I would like to see more when it's finished.
Maybe post something in the Gallery when you get chance. -
RE: Eliminating un-needed faces
It sounds a very good idea for a script though if one is not available. I would definately use it!

Thanks Guys, so it looks like its not advisable quite yet.
I'm now wondering if I should install when I get it on Tuesday
next. Any suggestions Tim?Mike
Me personally I would probably not be able to wait and would install it

Have you still got a pc with SU on so you could carry on working with SU if required.
I guess it is all down to how much you rely on SU.Why not wait to hear reports of others trying first. Im sure within a few days of release the forums will start receiving reports.

Not heard the term bleeding edge before until now - You learn something new everyday.

RE: Blocks from ADT to SU?
Not that I know of Susan, although I only got ADT (well I have ACAD Architecture 2008) last week.
I did try but could not get it to do what you ask.I would'nt have thought it was possible, but if someone knows otherwise, please let us know!

RE: An interesting phenomenon with styles
Is this one of Susans Entourage trees Gaieus?
It looks really nice.

RE: Outliner to Text?
Good work Todd.
Not that I need it, it's just nice to see someone post a request like that to find to find it has already been thought of and worked on! -
RE: Trouble printing through SketchUp?
I must admit, I never print directly from SU, I always tend to export an image.
Maybe that may help you work around this until you find a solution. -
RE: Changing Axes - should selection window rotate too???
I see what you are saying Andrew, but it has never bothered me enough to make me think about it

I guess it is one of those things you dont really know until you try, which unfortunately we can't. -
RE: Fabric roof
This is one of the best plugins for SU I know. I dont really get to use it much but when I do it always makes me

RE: DO Standards (of any sort) exist for Materials / Tiles
Anything like this can only be a good thing imo. It will benefit you and any others you care to share with.
