RE: New here - totally confused
Maybe introduce yourself a little more seaside.
If you wish to draw a circle or a cube, look at your toolbar and you have a circle and square icon. Use these with push/pull to generate 3d shapes.
I really suggest you follow the SketchUp videos one by one to learn some basics.

RE: Interior using Podium 1.5 (new thread )
These are just so good!
Do most of the materials you add in Podium to render these images come as part of the material library, or are they available via the Podium forums?

RE: Kitchen - WIP
I really love this rendering method. It works very well with detailed objects.

RE: What do you or the firm you work for specialize in?
I work in Local Government for the Architects Division.
The majority of our work is in education but with the Council owning so many different types of buildings in the City we can work on some very interesting stuff.
The good thing is I am the only person who carries out the 3d models, so I am usually always busy, but happy!Dylan

RE: Computer specifications
There is a lot of info available on computer specs etc in this forum, but it is difficult to say what would be a minimum to run SU comfortably.
What is the spec of your computer?
Post the details and we can start to advise better. If you are new to SU there are several tricks/methods to work efficiantly with your model and which will help take some of the pressure of your computer.
p.s welcome to the forum Chris

RE: Watercolor...
I like that Bob, it is totally transformed from your last image.
The good use of trees and adding the clouds works really well. Now looks like a pretty good watercolour.

RE: Interior Design
A couple of simple suggestions if you are working a lot with interiors, but you may already be using are:
FOV - adjust your field of view which in Pro defauts at 35degrees. You can change this to help with your views, make internal modelling easier and it will also eliminate some of the clipping.
Sections - You can use sections to eliminate some walls to get into the internal spaces better.

RE: Hello from Austria
Welcome Vargas.
Glad to hear you have got your children involved also. The software is great fun.
You can download components such as beds, sofas, sink, refridgerator etc from Googles 3D Warehouse which can help with the modelling of your rooms and adds a bit of extra fun for the kids. Give it a try.

RE: House I built.
What a fantastic project to work on Eric. That is such a great test of various SU skills which many buildings do not use.
It is certainly not my taste in architecture, but is still an impressive building.
Did you model the internal iron balustrade?Dylan

Looks good Monika.
I especially like the way you have created the woodland in the background. -
RE: Importing ADT
Good question and thanks for the answer Annsi.
I have recently been given ACAD Architecture 2008 at work to trial and im about to start with it on a project.
I shall try the import into SU. -
RE: Old and dirty render
Thanks eldar, I certainly find this info very useful and I will give it a try.

RE: Living-Dining area(SU-Vue6)
Nice work.
I think the day image should be a lot brighter than this. With those windows abd their brightness, I would expect the room to be far brighter allowing a lot more light in.
