Fillet edge problem...= =
hi. I need some tips for the issue below.
anybody have good tips???

@pilou said:
Will be cool to have a "Knife arc tool" !
Maybe a inspiration for TIG or Sdmitch or Thomthom or Fredo or other genious Ruby coder!
what is it?? is it the name of sketchup plugin?
I just googled it but found nothing. k

RE: Tangent arc auto-snap how???????
thx Dave
it works great
but I don't understand why it doesn't work when I start from check point.
thanx again!

RE: Followme tool problem (face broken on curve)
Thx TIG!
I tried scale tool as you told me but it didn't work that well
maybe I couldn't fully understand and follow your explainationbut I got it when I made the radius of arcs lot bigger (maybe this was your suggetion, too)
I havent tried shape bender yet but hope it works, too
thanx again!

Tangent arc auto-snap how???????
I have problem getting auto snapping for tangent arc.
Can I have some tips guys???

Followme tool problem (face broken on curve)
hi! I have a problem while using followme tool
I got zig zag weird edge when plane bending inside (outside ok)
as you see in the pic
I tried shape bender and happend same thing
any tips ???

RE: Follow me tool ...didn't follw to the end
sdmitch!
I finally got it right..
I had some tips from googling.
one way I did it was that
just get a circle and put the face perpendicularly to mid point of one of circle's segment
so basically you are right...but I couldn't do yours right
thanx anyway
I know you got several way to solve this followme issue
but just for reference ..check the url below if you want! (the last reply)
Follow Me around curved path
I need to extrude a shape 180 degrees around an axis of rotation, but Follow Me doesnβt do it correctlyβ¦ I create a shape (square) in one plane, and a half circle arc in a perpendicular plane. The radius of the arc is eβ¦
SketchUp Community (forums.sketchup.com)
I did leave a comment earlier but it didn't show up yet I guess....weird
Thanx again! sdmitch!

RE: Follow me tool ...didn't follw to the end
Thanx for the replying sdmitch!
I tried both way you suggested but neither worked ok
Maybe I didn't fully understand your method = =
'higher number of segment' actually took me almost there ...with 100 but...
my other round models have only 12 seg. so it could break the balance I guess
'extra curve at the end' gave me only half parellel face along x axis.
I did both with same length....and....I'm afraid this way might screw my measurement
can I ask you your demo if it's possible??
I did other way using curviloft + joint push pull but it was too much labour and off center

Follow me tool ...didn't follw to the end
hi guys!
I got a question about followme tool...
can I get some tip ???
why this happen and how to fix it?
why it can't be 1/4 circle shape ??

RE: Curve's broken after transformation help!
woooooooooooow!
this is exactly what I was looking for...
thanx filibis! I really appreciated!
I just followed your gif. demo and worked perfect.
this will save enormous time and effort.
so I'm just hoping it's got no downside. ha~
thanx for the help!!

RE: Curve's broken after transformation help!
Thanx filibis
I used 'weld by smustard' before (now I installed superweld? in JHS powerbar) but It still requires handpicking each broken curves to weld selectively
when I select whole parts including broken part and hit weld,
sometimes curves mixed up and made weird connections.
I haven't tried 'removeloneyvertices' yet (where is libfredo6 7.7?? Holy~ can't find anywhere)
but I got the feeling that it will solve my issue. (will let you know as I get it!)
thanx again!

Curviloft 92% popup won't go away
Hi! I have image below right after I hit curvilof button. (92% and no more processing...)
I had this popup before but I luckly escaped somehow at that moment.
I tried 'esc', restart sketchup, 'click viewport' as it says, click 'selection' and reselect
but it didn't go away. So I can't use curviloft options.
How do I get my option bar back?

Curve's broken after transformation help!
HI! I have a problem while manipulating curves.
how do I keep my curves in one piece after bending
In the image below, I have one piece straight lines but as I do group and shape bender my
curves are broken piece by piece.
I still need those bended curve for next step.
In order to have one piece curve again, I have to weld them one by one. too much labor.
but what if there are tons of broken pieces of curves then how am I weld them.....
not only shape bender but quite many transforming plugins break up lines
especially when it ends to something round, curvy.
Can I get some tip on the issue???

RE: Looking for square tube plugin...for closed path
Thanx for reply famous TIG.
I'm newbie but at least I know you are plugin God.
I just tested upright extruder and found it's very useful tool!
thanx again!
but also do you know any 'square tube' plugin works like 'lines to tube' by D.bur?
I just need exact same like 'lines to tube' function but generate 'square tube'
instead of circular tube.

Looking for square tube plugin...for closed path
Hello Sketchup gurus....
I need help γ .γ
I need square tube along path plugin.... (I named it instantly)
here's my image url
https://www.imageupload.co.uk/image/D0eF
no.1 is my base lines (closed path)
no.2 made out of lines to tube by D.bur (precision 4) but its
corners are not right and..I want its top/bottom surfaces be parallel to the floor
not like diamond but square β‘no.3 is what i'm looking for but I did other way to make that.
I want to use some square tube plugin on no.1 and get no.3.no.4 is sphere wireframe + lines to tube plugin
the peoblem of pipe along path and extrude along path is that they don't work
on 'closed path'. they pick random lines and turn out to some weird stuffno.5 I need some plugin that can get me the last model(right bottom) from no.5
I have lines to tube/ pipe along path / extrude along path
none of'em got me what I'm looking for
is there any plugin which can make 'square' tube on closed path?

I just copy/paste one hex and move it side by side...wondering why it's not workable.
Better use the native Push Pull on an hexagonal surface!
Maybe not very precise Copy Past! on "hot point" !
As you can see with my above example no problem!@unknownuser said:
curvated surface is from curve push/pull plugin. not sure what's wrong with it.
Better draw an arc circle then extrude it with the famous Projections by Didier Bur
(last icone) Indispensable for extrude line(s), curve(s)!thanx for crystal clear youtube comparison demo! really helpful.
you are a life saver to newbies like me out there!
Thanx for good tip Pilou!

redraw your hexagonal facade!
It's a nightmare!
no straight lines / rectangular surface, holes, all faces have not same orientation etc...Redraw also your curvated surface!
it is in some parts!Else I see nothing more that can't works!
Make maybe also before some trainings with "little objects" !
Put also your objects projection in natural position
that can help to understand how the plugin works...[attachment=0:1f31g4rc]<!-- ia0 -->vrac2.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:1f31g4rc]
Ps About image when you have few posts on the forum
upoload in some hosting sites then make a direct links...
try the free ttps://www.imageupload.co.uk/ (but press only buttons upside screen)Thanx for your time and effort, pilou!
I just copy/paste one hex and move it side by side...wondering why it's not workable.
curvated surface is from curve push/pull plugin. not sure what's wrong with it.
Anyway I will do some training with tiny stuff as you say.
thanx again!

What am i doing wrong? Flowify question
I attached my file.
I'm practicing flowify but It says
error while parsing the target grid
a cell consists of exactly four edges. blahblah
Could I get some advice from you guys??
and also I'd like to know insert image on this post.
thanx guys!

RE: Can anybody inspect my file please?
@tig said:
The Cylinder is a good solid.
The other complex-form has several tiny issues.
Misaligned edges and faces that are a tiny bit out of coplanar etc. However, you can still achieve what you want, before fixing those more awkward problems...
Simply edit the cylinder and intersect with model, then edit the complex-form and repeat the intersection - reverse the parts of the cylinder to be correctly oriented...
Delete the unwanted parts in the two groups, then recombine those two sets of geometry into one...See the illustration...
I used SolidSolver to fix the result [without deleting coplanar edges]...
See the attached SKP...thanx for your time, TIG! problem solved.
I think.......... shape bender sometimes make some unexpected transform slightly, doesn't it??
