      Dave,
      You're right, there shouldn't be any CR at line end.
      Just like this:
      0,8,7
      2,3.1,5
      and so on.

      Please send me the file just to check what's wrong with it. ๐Ÿ˜’

      Excel CSV, Notepad, Wordpad, UltraEdit, Shalom, deliver correct ascii text files.
      You can display and/or supress all unwanted CR with a lot of common text editors, for instance SciTE (see pic with regular carriage returns and line feeds on).
      Hope this helps,

    • RE: Cloud.rb update

      Hi all,
      I forgot to upload the updated version of 07.03.07 so here it is ๐Ÿ˜ณ
      Please download and read the PDF too. Most answers to your questions are in there (I hope). ๐Ÿ˜„

      Gaieus: the script is (simply) crypted. No edit possible (unless you have the decrypt method).
      Triangulation is provided only when points have been imported (at the end of the script).
      The "Only 1 data per line..." message occured with previous version when using a space delimiter. This have been fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    • RE: Balustrade components

      Hi,
      Components are picked up from your model. They must be part of it, that's-to-say visible in the "In model" tab of the components browser.

      Alternativelyn you could use attributes to store data within the SKP. That's the best way IMHO to save parameters (platform independent).

      @unknownuser said:

      I dived into "Programming Ruby", couldn't find the answer, searched the ruby forum... I'm lost

      All distances and lengthes are stored in inches in SU. Totally idiot IMHO, but that's the way it is.
      Replace the following line: e.pushpull Float( dist[0])
      with e.pushpull Float( dist[0]).m

      That's it !

      To convert a metric number in inches, for instance 16m, you can type in the Ruby console: 16.m and you'll get 629.92125984252

      Yes yes yes.
      A german user sent me a bug report this morning when using the space delimiter, this has been fixed but I must still check what's wrong with SU6. I don't forget you ! ๐Ÿ˜›

      Hi all,
      Don't know if it will be of any interest here, but I will add my 2 cts to the "layers structure concern" providing soon a new release of my layer manager, GSU6 free and pro compatible: I have add filters to display or hide layers, typing wildcards in a dialog box, just like Autocad layers filters. ๐Ÿ’ญ

    • RE: Didier's cloud.rb

      OK, I've posted the new version of cloud.rb at the depository:

      http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=1533

      -better dialog box (more user-friendly).
      -better layer support
      -more delimiters, sample of file line provided in dialog box
      -invalid file detection, more than 3 data per line detection,
      -select your X Y Z coords columns when more than 3 data per line in the input file
      -option to "flatten" the data (Z=0)

      Tested with V5 and V6. works like a charm ๐Ÿ˜›

      Gaieus, when you say "it does nothing", maybe it does build the cloud anyhow: did you do a "zoom extents" after the command has ended, or did you look at the status bar to see the message when it imports the points ?
      If it fails, please send me the input file.

      Cheers,

      If I understand well, I must install V6 ๐Ÿ˜• (never use it after I tested it ) ?

    • RE: Shape-from-Shadow accessory

      Hi Maggy,
      I'm listening... and noticed than you probably never read the small tuto about heightfield_gen. It's strange to see that users who complain about uselessness of scripts or say they don't work never read the dox.
      OF COURSE it has NOT been developed for SFS, it's a basic file processor for terrain generation based on greyscale images, just that and nothing else.
      Just for fun I've d/led your avatar, saved it as a PPM ASCII (RTFM) with XnView, ran the plugin. A "terrain" of around 26000 faces has been drawn in a matter of a minute. I must say that you are much prettier in real life than in SU ๐Ÿ˜†

    • RE: How the RUBY apply a dimension(with label, dimension line wi

      Hi,

      When implementing a tool class, the pick method called for an InputPoint object should do the trick itself:
      For instance:

      def activate
        @ip1 = Sketchup;;InputPoint.new
      ...
      end

      def onLButtonDown_old(flags, x, y, view)
        @ip1.pick view, x, y
      ...

      Look at the example "linetool.rb" which comes with SU.
      Hope this helps,

    • RE: How the RUBY apply a dimension(with label, dimension line wi

      It can't, AFAIK ๐Ÿ˜ž At least V5 can't.
      Don't know with V6, some topics here are about dims being added to geometry so I suppose it is possible. Did you found nothing helpful in the Ruby docs ? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
