RE: The sound of my silence (tweaked version)
Here's another version of this rendering i wasn't satisfied with the first post. I tweaked the couch and the background thing, i feel it's quite incomplete and too bright for the mood. So here it is, you guys might wanna compare it with the previous one. Thanks. Enjoy, C&Cs are very much welcome.

RE: The sound of my silence (tweaked version)
@modelhead: thanks for the comment bro! the couch work depicts something that says "restless be not, you're the one i only love"!! hehe!!

RE: The sound of my silence (tweaked version)
@numbthumb: bro, thanks for the comment!! You're right about the Beatles, the song is something, and my "special someone" is a fan of the Beatles, as well.

RE: The Art of SketchUp - part 1: Fantasy
hi ken, these renders are very fantastic, most especially the temple and the one with the cars!!
-
RE: Comfortably numb......
pyroluna: thanks for the compliment, and dropping by once again. the renderer i used, vray for sketchup. never mind the graininess, it keeps up with the quite dirty atmosphere of the room.
lapx: thanks bro!! my technique for the carpet, import any colorful jpeg or bitmap into sketchup and use as texture. after that put some displacement on the texture with a multiplier of, say 5 to 8. that's it!! you have a colorful carpet in your scene.

RE: *The Turbine Hall*
i must say, very fantastic work here!! nice textures!!! makes me insane to the membrane!!

RE: Comfortably numb......
numbthumb, thanks for welcoming me back bro! i just noticed only now, that your signature is comfortably numb. i would say this piece i made, would coincidentally be a tribute to you and pink floyd!! At first i was thinking of doing a tribute to pink floyd, while boredom kickin' in, i decided to listen to comfortably numb and have a cigar alternately, over and over again. This was the result.

Comfortably numb......

RE: Omerta in the streets of the escorts
@ken: thanks for the comment bro, as well as the advice, i'll try to tweak the render with regards to the fog.
-
RE: Omerta in the streets of the escorts
thank you for dropping by,sires.
yup, the render is intentionally dark, to depict an old building turned into something of business that is calm and yet chilling in atmosphere, the restaurant as front and mob operations at the back. if you'll notice the airship at the upper right, its the goodyear one, as seen by tony montana in the movie scarface, just to remind of mob stuff. basically, its all about the mob, but only in the philippine sort of setting. the building used here, is located at escolta, manila.

Omerta in the streets of the escorts
its quite a while since i've been here. nice to be back and be able to render freely on my own pace. here's a render of mine, which i did each time i was free from work. c&c's are very much welcome.
this piece was inspired by an old building in manila that was "wrongly" developed as a commercial establishment.

RE: All along the watchtower- part 2
@andrija: thanks for the comment bro!!
@ken: 1. the cat is meant to be that way, depicting something quite evil's transformation into something of this world.
-
the tombstone has some sort of subliminal message regarding, that's why its that way. Simply means, your supreme being is over you in no matter what perspective you are in, empty or not as a worldly creation.

the candlelight, i'll be trying to add some. actually the ghost in one of the towers and the old dude carrying wood upon the entrance, are from the album of led zeppelin, IV.
thanks for the c&cs bro!!
@numbthumb: nice to have you back bro!! actually, these images, are culminations of zeppelin and hendrix...and yes black sabbath as you've perceived it.
sorry for giving you the creeps man!! hehe!! and thanks btw!

All along the watchtower- part 2
Heres an update on my previous thread, all along the watchtower, a few weeks ago. its a hendrix inspired piece of work, did it for fun.
i hope the suggestion by rick graham on my previous thread would become a reality, a render or model this competition, according to your fave song or artist. hehe!!
C&Cs are very much welcome!!
-
RE: All along the watchtower
@rick graham: man that would be a great idea, a "model this" competition for each and everyone's favorite song or artist. i'd be willing to join with a new entry, a led zeppelin song perhaps!!! hehe!! let's get it on!!!
@massimo, @numbthumb: yes it was hendrix' version that inspired this work.
guys, rick graham was suggesting to have a competition, "model this" based on your fave artist or song!! that would be fun!! raise your hands for this to push through!!
-
RE: All along the watchtower
@cmoreink: thanks for the constructive criticism. it's alright, if you see it that way. Each and everyone has his own view on art. I made this for the sake of fun, just to kill time.
@KXI systems, @d12dozr: thanks man for the suggestions!! it was fun having you and the other guys on this thread giving c&c's, it has helped me alot to be a better 3d visualizer.
i'll be posting a new tower by the 24th or 25th of March, please watch out for it, it'll be an entry for an exterior rendering competition on a certain filipino graphics website.
thanks again guys!! see ya!! -
RE: All along the watchtower
@flipya: nothing to apologize about, man. i myself am a musician, a guitar dude specifically, who loves classic rock stuff, altogether with blues and jazz.
as for the rendering, i used vray for sketchup, with the 7am shadow on, together with the bumps. post rendered with photoshop, tweaked the saturation and brightness til i got what i wanted, sharpened a bit to emphasize the textures. then added trees and the full moon background, and finally turning all of it to black and white. that"s it!!
@KXI systems: i'll be trying to add some details to the textures. thanks a lot man!!
