Well done NZ!!!
Welcome to the southern Hemisphere "double" club!
NZ - Aus semi.
Not sure how to call that one although my gut says NZ will take it.
Looks like it may be a NZ - Wales final (unless the French show up in the right frame of mind).
Still very interesting!!!
SA dominated the Aussies but still managed to lose.
Well done to Aus your defense won the game, really disappointed but we went out playing really well so cant complain about that!
Thanks for that.
I never thought of using the interactive BSD for output.
Its probably a fair bit quicker than TR1 or regular BSD (without the setup time).
Will have to play over the weekend and see how things go.
Great work SRX, could you please give us some tips or maybe a screenshot on your interactive BSD render settings and lighting?
Much appreciated!
Thanks, Majid, really generous of you.

very good!
but is or not vray for sketchup?
Thanks, Giuseppe!
Yes, I am using Vray but it is not the latest version and I therefore can't use certain .vismat materials due to version incompatibility.
Hi Sharwe, and welcome!
Great work, look forward to seeing more from you!

Hi Dazza,
I think you don't have the last VRay.
Regards,
Luis
Thanks Luis, I think you are right.
I'll have to get it later.
Thanks!
Thanks guys I really appreciate all the positive criticism.
I will definitely take all your suggestions to task and do a follow up render some time this week.
I have been having some trouble getting the lighting to "lighten", might just be as simple as upping the GI modifier.
I also agree with you, the background image is distracting and has to be sorted out.
I am also really battling to set up a decent brushed stainless steel material for the appliances, do you guys have any suggestions. I did try to load the free .vismat collection from the vray site but I'm having trouble importing them as it keeps saying "invalid .vismat format" even though the materials are stated as being for Sketchup and Rhino.
I must also get rid of the emmisive materials for the lights and either "turn the lights off" or put proper lights there!
The client didn't want anything cluttering up the kitchen, for this render, but I do agree with you all, its all in the details
I must admit though, interiors are a lot more challenging than I thought
Later guys, I'm off to do my day job!
Hi Guys
Well, here is my 1st attempt at interiors, which happens to be my 1st kitchen as well.
The design is from a local kitchen company that want some renders done for a new client.
Anyway, Its all modeled in Sketchup and rendered in Vray.
All/any crits and criticisms will be greatly appretiated!

Thanks! This is only my 2nd project. But I can't render. I'm using the free version.
If someone here could do that for me, I'd be glad to post the model. You can render even if you use the free edition.
Ah! See, I just learned something new. Thanks.
Can you suggest a free renderer? (really, I swear, English is my first language )
I would try Kerkythea http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/
or Indigo http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/
Both are easy, fun to use and give great results!

i think at this point the plugins and the community are what makes SK what it is. just try and imagine using it without any plugins; ouch . BTW, thankyou every ruby master out there. that being said, there's really no way for anyone to ever replace that that.period, full stop
Google should be on there knee's to the people that really make SK what it is! IMHO
I couldn't agree with you more

Thanks for those words mate! Although I live in another state about 12 hours north this tragety is heart felt nationwide! The lost of life and property is seeing the community donate over $1mil an hour to the relief fund - and although this support will mean alot to the recovery of these areas it can in no way relieve the grief these people will feel over their losses!
Thank you mate!
We've had a spate of bush fires down in the western Cape which (nowhere near as devastating) has wrecked 1000's of hectares of rare indigenous life, not to mention the 100's of homes etc. Luckily there have been no human deaths that I know of but its still quite shocking. Now we are getting record rains up north (Joburg etc.) and large informal settlements are being washed away, due to their proximity to the rivers.
I suppose the only real positive we can all take out of this is the way tragedy brings communities together and renews hope in mankind in general.
Anyway, enough hijaking of your thread , looking forward to seeing more inspiration from you in the near future.
Hey Richard, really cool style and so simple, makes you sit back and think "why did I never think of that before"?
Well Done.
Sorry to digress a little but how are you guys doing down there with the tragedy of these bush fires?
We here in South Africa are thinking and praying for you all!
Hey Mauritz, good to see you around again!
Thanks for looking into the problems and for giving me the heads up for the SA based site.
Please keep us informed about any improvements you guys come up with re the panning and .ctb as well as other major issues which arise.
Cheers for now
Thanks, I really appreciate it.
I have been using DCAD all evening (Sat evening and working - ) and the only problem I have come across so far is the frustration of panning as mentioned.
I have checked and my drivers are all up to date and I've only had DCAD open. I also want to clarify, both machines have the mentioned problems panning when I run DCAD!?!
OH, a quick question, is it possible to import ACAD plotstyle .ctb files directly into DCAD? I know I could always set up my own styles from scratch again but was just hoping that there would be an import to bypass that.
I'll just add that the more I "play" around with DCAD the more cool little features I'm coming across that really rock.
