1ST Kitchen & Vray

Dazza,
Great start, I would look at detailing now, especially for the metal surfaces, I think the exterior image is too strong and distracting from the focus.
The reccessed can lights look like disks right now.
I like the materials used, looking very good so far, please keep posting as you progress.

Mate like Pete and Kim start on the details - though don't plaster the kitchen like many would - KISS!
I'd straighten up the camera and maybe pick a not so much "show all" camera angle! Even exclude the window from the view that way it doesn't become a issue as pete mentioned! Maybe try a bit of shadows and highlights filter in PS to liven the back corner if your having trouble illuminating it! Maybe even just a tad of noise and slight desaturate.
Great work mate!!!! Look forward to seeing more if this is only your first!

I second the stright camera suggestment: keep vertical lines vertical, and everything becomes better

i also think that the exterior image should be more brighter, ando like had been said, the scene needs more details, like some food or knifes, or stuffs like that, we will be waiting for updates.

Hi,
Nice render.
I like the ground material. The reflections and colors are very nice.
You should modify your lights intensity, I think it is too dark.Luis

Thanks guys I really appreciate all the positive criticism.
I will definitely take all your suggestions to task and do a follow up render some time this week.
I have been having some trouble getting the lighting to "lighten", might just be as simple as upping the GI modifier.
I also agree with you, the background image is distracting and has to be sorted out.
I am also really battling to set up a decent brushed stainless steel material for the appliances, do you guys have any suggestions. I did try to load the free .vismat collection from the vray site but I'm having trouble importing them as it keeps saying "invalid .vismat format" even though the materials are stated as being for Sketchup and Rhino.
I must also get rid of the emmisive materials for the lights and either "turn the lights off" or put proper lights there!
The client didn't want anything cluttering up the kitchen, for this render, but I do agree with you all, its all in the details
I must admit though, interiors are a lot more challenging than I thoughtLater guys, I'm off to do my day job!

I think you don't have the last VRay.

Thanks, Giuseppe!
Yes, I am using Vray but it is not the latest version and I therefore can't use certain .vismat materials due to version incompatibility.
