Sry for not updating for some time.
Not much has changed since last update but the hull has given me many hours of work nevertheless. Luckily the most difficult part is done and now adding smaller details should take less time.

[WIP] Estonian submarine Lembit
In 1934 Estonian coverment ordered 2 Kalev class submarines from Vickers-Armstrongs Limited. The two brothers were named Kalev and Lembit. They were both launched in 1936 and entered service in 1937.
In 1940 Soviets occupied Estonia and captured both submarines. One of the brothers called Kalev was lost the same year. It is tought that it hit one of many naval mines found in Baltic Sea. Hes brother Lembit was lucky enough to survive the WWII and was finally decommissioned in 1979. Lembit was nicknamed "Immortal submarine" and is worthy of its name even today as it has spent 75 years floating on water. No other submarine in the world has been afloat for such a long time.
In early 2011 Lembit was pulled out of water and now spends rest of its life in a dry Seaplane Harbour.I wanted to make a model of it for a long time but couldn't find any blueprints that I could use. But now I have found few + some very good pictures of it when it is out of water.
Anyways getting the basic hull shape correct has been real pain in the eye. But I think I can manage it even tho work has been slow past few days as I want everything to be perfect and detailed. Here are few very early pictures of it:

Hmm... problem is that jpeg does not support transparency. You can set a transparency mask in your vray material options.
oh

RE: Weird texture problem
@Jeff Hammond
well yes I have that checked but smaller details still get blurred too much.@Solo
Hmm... problem is that jpeg does not support transparency. But I think if I'm going to do any textures then I'm going to make everything ready in photoshop and later apply it to the model. Thx for the replys tho.

RE: Weird texture problem
20 000x20 000 reso is too small or sketchup makes all textures look blurry mess.
-
RE: Weird texture problem
oh well. It would be much better if sketchup supported bigger textures. It's going to look like a big blurry mess.

RE: Weird texture problem
well yes I use V-ray... maybe thats why I posted this in V-ray section?
I made pattern first and applied it to the model and now I simply made these weathering textures and imported them as images into sketchup and added on the model. They are seperated from the main texture. -
Weird texture problem
Hi
I'm tring to texture a model in sketchup with simple methods. So to add more detail and weathering to my model I decided to import textures and put them where I need. Eveything looks good but when I render it looks bugged. So what should I do to fix this. (look at the pictures for better explanation) -
RE: Tiger II Tank Interior

RE: Tiger II Tank Interior
Wow very nice job
Your work has inspired me to continue work on my King Tiger model. Exterior is almost finished(615 704 faces, 1 606 489 edges, 32mb)
Also I noticed your work on World of Tanks forum. So I thought you must have a topic in here so I came to check.
