Well, I have posted some pictures in my welcome thread in the "Newbie Forum". However, I thought I would start a thread in here for my WIP. Please take into consideration that I am two weeks into SU, or any other type of 3D rendering program. I just do this for fun. However, I am very open minded and would love tips, tricks, criticism, etc.

RE: Lifepod Project
This is very interesting to me. I have one question though. You said this would be useful for F4 and below. How are you going to keep this mobile pod secured to the ground? Granted, I know you stated that is is meant for shrapnel. I would just like to what is stopping it from flying away.

The center of the hoop should only be 63" in from the out-of-bounds line and the base cannot be inside the playing field.
I was also going to point that out. However, I did not know if Raff was done with layout.

RE: Basketball court.
This looks like a good start. I am currently working on a baseball stadium.

RE: Newbie w/ a new hobbie
In addition, in SU 8 I was able to change the lines to the axis color? Did this option go away in SU 2013?

RE: Newbie w/ a new hobbie
I made the one dugout a group, copy, and then pasted it. However, I am having problems trying to move it into place. I looked at a tutorial but I can not seem to finesse it into place. Are there any easy tips to get this into place?

Is there a way to copy the dugout on the first base side and paste it to the third base side?

Another small tip before you go too far. Make sure you know about Groups and Components and how they separate geometry and make repetition easy.
Yeah, I need to research that more.

RE: Newbie w/ a new hobbie
Dave - Thank you for the tips. The thing about baseball fields is the guides are used for multiple things. I will need most of those lines in the future.
You are right about the face colors. Sometimes I can not tell if it is a shade or not. I am going to change my face colors.

You're supposed to grow one... but you're supposed to start with a clean shave.
You grow a stache in Stachetober. Then comes No Shave November for the rebels refusing to part with their stache from Stachetober.

RE: Easiest way to put handrail?
@mikedd said:
What is the easiest method to put an handrail on this model? The handrail is to be fitted on the 4 x 4 posts.
Are you looking to add a wood or steel handrail?

Ahhh, it expect that you are going to make some type of 3D shape this that being the inside. How would you alleviate this? Would you draw that outline like I did then push/pull up a predetermined length?
Yes, it does. It would probably be easiest to start on top of a box. You could draw your outline and use Push/Pull as you suggest.
Does this look better?

When you draw a square on the ground Sketchup assumes you are going to extrude it, so it makes the back face up.
