We use Quicktime Pro for compiling images and then drop the compiled movie in Final Cut for adding audio, but there are comparable options out there for free or almost free. Movie maker works fine but there's just not enough customization. iMovie is better if you have a mac.
What software are they using in the second half of the video?
The part where they are recreating the track and surroundings, it's pretty cool graphics.
--Set your profiles to 2
--Export your view at 3800 pixels wide with anti-aliasing turned off.
then take a look at them. you'll have to resize it to post, but as Bubba was saying it will thin up the lines.
if you want them to have a hand drawn feel then
-goto the Windows pull-down and select the styles dialog
-select the drop down menu next to the little house button and pick at sketchy edges.
-you can then mix these edges with your textures.
Wow! been watching this and what a result. It looks amazing. I'm gonna hate on you for a bit since it looks so good.
Here is the hate.
I'm not sure how long it will be until we switch to 7, due to the economics of our industry. Will the free version of 7 work ok installed alongside the Pro version of 6?
my wife almost bought me that... thank god she didn't. if you pick him up, in the toilet is a bunch of paper clips that stick to a magnet on his butt.
Turn that upside down and it looks just like my grandmother's candy dish. Although her's is a dark green glass.
I realize they would have to potentially re-write the entire thing but they need to be looking forward and know that they have to move in that direction. I guess I shouldn't complain since the sketchup6 upgrade was free from my recollection, but I was really expecting a bit more in this release than dynamic components. Sorry to get you all red-faced remus.
I have to vote nay as well. I agree with stinkie, it doesn't seem to be going down the road I need.
A more stable program seems like a point release to me, not a full version release. I think users accept too much beta level problems in software nowadays. That being said I still love sketchup and will continue to use it but I've got to find something that can handle the larger scenes. I don't know why any graphics program would not move to support multi-core processing...

Cheers Rick.
BTW, any plans for a doorizer? would be real handy to keep it 'in house'.....
I'm Voting for Doorizer also!!!
I just purchased it as well, and that's my only request is to add to a right-click dialog as David mentions.
Works flawless though, going to be such a time saver.
Ok, so it's an interior space. I first thought it would be an outdoor thing.
Formfonts has a lot of high quality stuff, for interior.
here is urgen's work. some of the best out there.

In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

excellent work! I like the way your website works as well.
what's your favorite rendering engine?
You can import as a jpg, then explode it and sample it to use as a texture.
Do you have any prelim images of what this place will look like? that might help us help you find something better suited.

On the whole, I think things are fine as they are. Yes, it can be a tad annoying seeing some people add yet more of the same to an already overburdoned thread, but at least you know which ones you can ignore if you've already had enough of that subject. Substituting a marathon thread with a plethora of new ones is probably not going to be an improvement.
