    • "No Components Selected" in Components Options Window

I've been working with DC's a little lately and I'm having an inconsistent error with the "Component Options Window."

After working with the same file for awhile, the CO Window doesn't recognize the component I have selected. The Component Attributes Window will continue to show the attributes, but the CO Window behaves like there is nothing selected. It reads "Select one or more components to view their options." I have this problem with more than just this file, and not always just with DC's. Normally when I select a component, it will at least show the component name in the CO Window, even if there are no options.

It's like the CO Window "forgets" how to detect the selection.

I've researched these forums and some other online sources and have found similar issues, but no clear solution. Restarting SU does not solve the problem. Restarting my computer does usually solve the problem, but not always.

Is this a known bug? Anyone else experiencing this?

    • RE: Is there a way to access the 'Volume" of the 'Element Info'?

I've been looking for an answer to this issue, and this post is as close as I could get.

How can I show the volume of a component in the Component Attributes window? It seems to be available in Attribute Reporting and in the Entity Info window, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get it to the CA window.

Once I have the volume, I hope to calculate a cost for that volume. I have the cost per a determined UOM and can figure out how to convert it.

      Thanks

    • RE: Sections and rotated axis

This still stumps me. I am able to select and rotate any section plane other than the plan view section.
Using the tool suggested, I have to know the angle the building is rotated?
I suppose a work around is to design the building as a separate drawing and then insert it into the file with the geo location. It just bothers me that I can't figure this out. It seems like it should be so easy.

Bobrsta, how did you end up fixing this? I have the same issue with a drawing. I have reviewed the other post, but I guess I'm not big on plug-ins at this point. I'd like to understand how I can rotate a plan section view with native tools.
      Anyone explain how?

    • RE: Where can I find the scale of a component?

I'm bumping this because I never did find the answer for this and ended up working around it with a fairly cumbersome, manual method. I'm curious still if anyone has any ideas, or perhaps it just isn't possible at this point.

      Thank you

    • Can't open files from Google Drive in Mobile Viewer

I started playing with the Mobile Viewer for iPad yesterday after reading it was now able to open my models directly from Google Drive.

I opened Google Drive and was able to select Sketchup Mobile Viewer as an option to view my .skp files. It worked as well as I'd hoped, navigating around my model.

Later I did an update to Google Drive and I'm no longer able to select Mobile Viewer as an option.

I removed and reinstalled both Google Drive and Sketchup Mobile Viewer, but that didn't solve it.

I am able to email myself the .skp file from Google Drive on my iPad, then follow the link to download the file, and am able to open and view in Viewer.

I assume I have something minor configured incorrectly, but I haven't been able to find it.

      Any ideas?

      Thank you in advance
      Tim

    • RE: Round holes through, sometimes cylinder faces, sometimes not

      Thank you. That makes sense.

The holes with interior edges were, in fact, started as circles that were generated with interact faces.

The vertical holes through the horizontal piece do not seem to have interior cylindrical faces. The horizontal holes have the faces.

    • Round holes through, sometimes cylinder faces, sometimes not

I'm not even really sure how to describe my question ...
Sometimes when I draw a circle on a surface and then push it through a solid, the resulting "hole" has cylindrical surfaces, and sometimes it doesn't. What is the difference? Which way is correct?

I'm hoping someone out there knows what I'm asking.
