Hi Frithioff,
did you try to export the model directly from Strata as DXF or Obj? For me it works fine.

Hi,
I have found another page with a lot of free 3D models.

Hi Sixto,
export the file as *.obj and import it with ObjectImporter Plugin from Jim Foltz.
Update Dec 28, 2010 - TIG's OBJ Importer , based on this code, is likely a more robust plugin. This is a basic importer for .obj files. It w...

Hi,
Does in your "Plugins" menu "3dxSketchup" exist? Similarly, in the "View" menu?

Hi,
here is a test of two faced mirrors.
TIG,
thanks for your explanaton. That was my error in reasoning.
Hi massimo,
thanks for the tip. But the problem with the non-mirrored 3D text object still exists.

Hi to All,
I've played a bit with "Kerkythea" to create a mirror. By chance I was able, as I chose in the material editor the file "Sample.nk for the transparent glass. I do not know exactly what causes this file but it works. The writing on the cube is exactly mirrored but the 3D text object is not mirrored. What could be wrong?

Hi TIG,
I had not thought about this simple solution. Now it works as it should. A great tool and a great developer. Thank you very much TIG.

Hi,
for this workflow I have used a very time-consuming method in the past. I have vectorized the "PNG", using an external application and than imported the "DXF" into Sketchup than I erased manually all unwanted edges.
The "TIG" tool seems to be a great tool for this purpose. I've just now taken notice of it. But unfortunately it does not seem to work for me. When I start it the progress bar started also and a window of my compression program opens. The tool works and terminates the operation normally. But the "TrimmedImage" folder is empty. I don't know what is wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Florida John,
Have you checked this in the preferences windows?

Hi,
I've even taken the trouble to put all sources known to me (SketchUcation, Smustard, RLD and Jim's SketchUp [Plugins] Blog) in a Word table together. Likewise with the corresponding Links and authors. In the table, the search is easier by alphabet or Authors.

Hi All interested,
I try to find other forms that can be produced with "Curviloft" and "shape bender". In the example below, I compared the model with the "Follow Me" made tool. The other is more reminiscent of Baroque forms.

Hi All,
Here are some more ideas. One can set up libraries with different objects, for later use. If someone is interested with, I can upload the Skp-files.

Thank you for your kind review.

Cool design. Is this a sketchup model?

Hi All,
here are some further trials.

Hi Toku,
select the three curves separately and weld each curve. Then take a copy of the curves and click the Extrude Edges by Rails to Lattice. Then select the curves in the order shown. The last thing you click on curve 1 as the Melding Profile.
All following Dialog boxes after that shown in picture 6 can be answered with no or cancel.
