How do I find missing saved file after bug splat?

No matter how many times I save my file while working if I encounter a bug splat the whole file reverts to the original opening file state i.e. none of the saved file is available. Is there a way to recover any of the saved but now missing file?

Do you have the .skb backup file making checked in Preferences - this is the last saved version - rename as .skp to reuse it. Also the AutoSave version [if checked] is also usually kept if you BugSplat - this might be more recent than the .skb. Always save frequently and before doing anything known to be 'risky' ! -
