RE: Local Fire Company Engine
here are the compartments covered up with the roll up doors, from both sides...
and with that, good night.

RE: Local Fire Company Engine
Alright, so normally during the weekends I rarely have time to model anything, but this weekend I managed to take a few minutes today to model the rear of the engine...
I'm not 100% satisfied but it's a good shell to work from:
I have to take in a few areas (recess them) to make the controls for the pumps and what have you, but other than that I'm going to spend some time detailing the compartments and such.

RE: Green Toaster's Car Sketches
well, here is a quick post to show off what I've been working on, purely off blueprints, intersecting shapes and what have you... I tried to create a mapped layer to shape the body (kind of like in 3Ds Max) but I found it much easier to tweak solids and such...
here's my Fire Engine (WIP):
i'm liking your various models tho, keep it up!

RE: Local Fire Company Engine
okay, so I figured I had 30mins to kill and my work has been caught up for the day... here is the final shot for today... i swear
I increased the jamb sizes, hopefully this will be noticeable.

RE: Local Fire Company Engine
another note to self, I have to increase the door jamb size from 1/16" to something more noticeable.

Ken, you are on fire (in more ways than one).
I love the chair. Thanks! I've been keeping this alive on the CAD forum, but I'm happier to share it here Here's my final work for today... I need to let my laptop cool off for the day running constant rendering and such...
I have to round off the windshield to let it "flow" better around the face and sides of the cab better and I'm debating whether or not to tidy up the seating...
I'm going to be at the firehouse tonight, so I'll try to use my photographic memory to remember how we have the interiors of the apparatus.

RE: Local Fire Company Engine
here's a front view, I haven't added the windshield yet.

RE: Local Fire Company Engine
here we are with some mirrors and newly added doors!

RE: Local Fire Company Engine
here's a few shots of the model, today I added windows, doors, and seats...
Here's the seats we use, they are open back like this to accommodate for the SCBA tank and holster... i might model those later on, but for now i'll leave it like this:

RE: Local Fire Company Engine
i've been slowly working on this project... i'm determined to do a complete model... I ended up starting from scratch and starting over...
i smoothed out the cab to where I think it looks about right...
I'll post more as I go along.

RE: Fast Food
nice looking renders, looks very clean and simple, yet has a lot of nice characteristics to it....
i'd eat there!

RE: Adding Tread to a Tire?
well, here we go, I have the tread in the tires... it's not zig-zagged like the real thing (i figured I could achieve the zig-zag by using the follow-me command somehow) anyway, it's perfect for what I'm currently looking for and it'll make the tires look more realistic.

RE: [Tutorial > Modeling] How to Draw a Tyre and Wheel
very nice! thank you very much.

RE: Adding Tread to a Tire?
thanks guys! both ideas are looking good!
here's just a shot of wheels on the engine... the engine needs a total revamp, but i figured I'd size them up...
