it's either ideas or lack of sleep..

i bought one of those space navigator as i have been asked for a fine fly-through of my sketchup model (have just been shooting around into hyperspace so far but i'll get there)

now as i roll about with the navigator, i imagine a script which keeps saving the camera view every 2 or 3 seconds so that i can then have my 64000 pages saved and later exported to ar renderer or other tricks... possible?

just thinking, if there is a way to automate files > save as copy and then add the current time suffix it's done.. no?

i wish i had a brain...

well.. it's 3am in england! (modelling that is)

sketchup does pause when autosaving, it's ok if the lapse is some 15-20 mins.
but if i could access the history of my model file by file i could keep being messy and not worry about it..

would be a script that - when activated - incrementally saves the file (every 10 or 15 mins) with the same name and the current time added as suffix.

might be wrong but i'm not aware there is something like this..

in the dialog box there is a layer field which has to be chosen

it's a smustard plugin to randomise rotation and scale of selected objects by TBD

not sure what's happening but on my pc JPP seems to have clashed with beziers, either some icons disappear altogether, or the curves cannot be drawn. - i have noticed this before a couple of times while working on the rubymenus thus think the weakness might have more to do with beziers than jpp

so now i also know the intruding 2d bryce man in the 3d template has been drawn on 2 different layers!

well there's no skp really - all i did was put a rectangular ground plane, and then tried the spray on it. also tried on a small sandbox mesh.

i tried again after posting yesterday and got the spray by point to work. the others though, will recognise the first click (centre of shape) but not the second so that i am in a sort of loop and the shape does not set.

i noticed at times if i drew the radius (second click), way beyond the mesh a message would pop up warning me that a huge number of comps would be sprayed, when i reduced the radius to be inside the boundaries of the mesh, nothing happened..

i will keep lookng into it - i seem to be the only one with this

by the way great ruby, even by point it is great.

doesn't seem to work with me

when spraying i always get the circle (whatever my settings) - click centre, radius and nothing happens.. just once i managed point, only after setting both default and dialog the same.

also tried it on a clean install.. is it just me?

Hi Philip, some scripts go to the tools folder - if still in trouble, and after looking at the pics i can see you have a messy folder (if such thing can be said for the SU plugins folder!) i would make a new empty plugins folder and place the rubyset contents there, same for the tools folder - then start SU to check for errors and if not start adding your other scripts in the plugins folder.

how about 'Splasher' - it almost sounds sketchup 5 era to me

'Projections' by didier can do that (results can occasionally differ from drape)
it's called extrude selected lines along vector - give it a go it's great
