I have just upgraded to Window 8.1 and have regretted it for the past three days after I had to reinstall everything. Anyway! I am missing a extension that I previously found very productive but can not find it as I dont know what it was called. It was a simple extension which you clicked on a line and it would create a parallel line which extended to its boundaries. I can not see it in the plugin store so assume it is in the warehouse somewhere.
Anyone have an idea of what I am talking about?

I have made a wall assembly using the excellent profile builder2 and would like to cut apertures through the wall. The wall is made up of a group with 4 different solid groups inside. Is there a plugin that can perform boolean operations across the whole 4 groups in one go? I have looked through the extensive plugin list but nothing popped out at me. thank you for your help.

Notice you've got both the label text box and the arrow selected. The select initially as a group now in LO2015. That's why the grips are way out there like that.

There are some subtle nuances now with the Label tool. If you want to resize the text box and not modify the shape of the arrow, double click on the arrow. Then single click on the text box and you'll see the resizing handles where you expect them.

Thanks for the clarification,

I guess the indexing system would be like the page numbering system but not related to the pages. The indexing system would relate to each other instance of that specific ''index autotext'. This system in addition to the above, could possibly relate to the location on the page vertically or horizontally or clockwise or anti clockwize or manual override.

SketchUp 2015 changed the name of the "Plugins" menu to be the "Extensions" menu. It is very hit-or-miss as to which ooold .rb plugins can be copied over and still work. That is why you really really have to install them via the Extension Warehouse, the SketchUcation plugin store, or smustard, just so you make sure you are getting the most recent version. Then if you still have some .rb extensions that you can't live without, just copy them into your plugins folder like you used to. Just do it sin small batches. If one doesn't work, it might pop up a loading error. then you'll know which one failed, and you won't be able to carry that one forward. In that case, all you can do is track down the author and try to get an update, or try a different plugin with same functionality.

These are are ones that you will most definitely have to re-download their newest version, that is specifically compatible with SU 2015. Most extensions that have their own installers do things to your system that simply copying their plugin files from one version of SU to the next is bound to fail. So yeah, a good rule of thumb is that if it has its own installer, it definitely cannot simply be copied.

Thats very informative and helpfull. I tried to get Podium walker to instal before reading this and found it was a no go. Guess we need to wait a bit long for these extension installers to be updated.

There is more than 1 per page. (when referencing; page number and then separate drawing number within the page) The indexing system would have to keep track of all instances across all pages. Would that be possible?

If you mean like this, docked above the bottom status bar. Right click on the top toolbar and select Measurements toolbar and drag it to where you want it.

I would like a custom AutoText that would create consecutive numbers and automatically update if an additional Autotext would be inserted within the existing set. ( to reflow the numbers after the new insertion)

Let me explain,

All my drawings have a title and a number, (Site Plan / 1, Block Plan / 2, Ground Floor Plan / 3 etc) At times I have to insert other drawings within the existing set of drawings and thus I have to re number all drawings after the new insertions. I could use point ie 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 to accomplish this but prefer to keep it simple. I hope that make sense.

Experiment this this tray and you will see how this works for you.

Just seen this post and just purchased SimLab PDF.

There is a button to combine PDFs with SlimLab, therefore the 3D pdf and the PDF from Layout can be combined. When opened on Android tablet I could open the file but there was not any 3D model. Only 2d PDF was viewable.
